We always stay at ASmovies and it's been my dream to stay at the Contemporary. Ideally in the tower...doesn't matter so much the view. How can you get this at it's cheapest?
We are going end of Sept/Beg oct. Right now booked at ASmo with kids free promo. We wantt he dining plan, but I'd even be willing to go QS DP if I could squeeze us into Contemp cheap enough. Right now it's about double the cost of ASmo. We don't do PH or waterparks.
Wha'ts the cheapest you've seen it and when?

You should stay there for your last night. Do ASMovies for Park days...and spend your last night or 2 at comtemporary. :)

Keep an eye out on the travel sites. Last year there was a fabulous deal that many were able to take part in through Orbitz. We got the Contemporary for under $150/night in the tower/magic kingdom view!!! I believe we booked in July?? last year. I am sure there are old threads on this.

What other site is there besides Orbitz? I will definitely check that out. It would be awesome for sure, I don't mind ASmovies at all. The buses are tollerable but Mama wants to feel pampered a bit. ;)

Is it possible that Cotemp is completely booked up for end of Sept? Nothing is really avaible but a suite.

My family has always stayed at the Value resorts and loved them! My youngest will be three in september....so were being kicked out of the values. We have booked a 7 night stay, 8 day base tickets and the Regular Dining plan for late November early December. For 3961.91. This is for 2 adults and 3 children....I hope it is worth the extra $$$$

It is probably just the dates you are trying. I just looked up 24th to 30th and got the tower. Then tried the 28th to 30th and got all room categories. Now if you were trying with a discount that is possible there were no rooms available under that discount.

When I put our dates (best dates are Sep 27-Oct 4 due to cheap flights being offered out of our home city in Canada) there is nothing. Im not using any discounts, none are offered on their website at the moment. Just looking up good ole rack rates.
It is the start of food and wine, and it is a transition between low to moderate pricing. So I don't know. :confused3

I am trying really hard to plan a trip to the UK next June, so I really don't want to spend a small fortune on DW, but if I can get tower MK view for $150 a night, we are SO all over that! :worship:

This is also the last time frame, August 19-September 29, for the free dining promotion that was offered at the end of 2010. So that, along with the food and wine festival, could cause for the resort to be quite full. In fact, the half marathon is for that weekend that you are there.

I did each day individually for the time you are asking to see which night is the hang up causing only a suite to be available because usually during a longer time frame, it is only one or two days which are causing the limited availability. For the 9/27-10/4 time, 9/27 and 9/30 are the only days that suites are the only rooms available.

Some dates may open up the closer to that time that you get as people can cancel up to 45 days before without worrying about penalties.

FYI: I checked Travelocity as I know I had seen some discounts in the past there for WDW, but they are currently pricing Contempory for 9/27-10/4 as 500/night for Tower, Park View.

Not to rain on anybody's parade but the extremely low (like $150) deluxe resort rates that were on sites like orbitz last year were a pricing mistake that lasted less than 24 hours. That's not to say that something like the couldn't happen again because it could -- but I certainly wouldn't count on it or get my hopes up. Even if it did you'd have to check here or on those sites once or twice a day for months to have a a chance at catching the mistake. You also can't add the dining plan to rates on those sites -- for what that's worth.

Once more completely seperate note about the Contemporary -- they host a lot of conventions, it's possible right now rooms are being held for convention goers and they will be released after a certain point. I've seen that happen several times.

Have you considered WL? It's a beautiful resort just across the water from CR, and has a boat to MK, and CR. And it's way cheaper but still deluxe.

Ideally in the tower...Right now it's about double the cost of ASmo.

For your time period, ASMo is $95 per night, and the cheapest Tower room is $475. Even the cheapest Garden View room is $345. The only way I can see to get the Contemporary at its lowest rate is to go during Value season, when at least a 40% room discount is offered. Or better yet, one of those super 4/3 deals. Good luck!

If you don't have an Annual Pass to get those rates when they are released or other general public room only discounts that WDW sometimes comes out with, if you are a member of AAA they have discounts from 10% - 20% at all their resorts and that's better then nothing.

I remember those crazy rates on Orbitz last summer. I actually booked SSR with one of those rates but ended up cancelling and using points. I think I had booked 2 nights in a studio for under $300.

They were crazy cheap rates!:teacher:

Anyway, what about renting points from a DVC member at BLT instead of the CR? It is lovely to stay over there... plus a LV studio is only 17 points on the weekdays in Sept and Oct. :rolleyes1

we went last year august 2010. i had bought an entertainment book from my daughters school fundraiser. there is a card that you need to register and you can go online and look for travel deals. I found a room at the GF for 240.00 a night! It was room only and we were already fully paid for and ready to go at that point.

If it's double the price of standard ASmo it is a great rate imo. Comparing the price of a value to a deluxe resort is akin to comparing apples to oranges. Cheap isn't a word i equate w/the contemporary ;) For October dates I used to be able to obtain reasonable rates w/AAA discount ($250). Rack rates have skyrocketed that last few years:sad2:. IMO, the best hope is to receive a 40% off pincode that applies to the category of rooms you want to book open.

lastly, if a split stay w/CR @ the end of the trip doesn't appeal to you and if you don't want the MK view, why not just book the garden view for substantially less $s you can still use the same resort amentities?
