"What's the Catch - Do I Not Get Bacon?" - 11/27 - TR started!

The ballroom looks amazing. I think I'll be disappointed if we end up not being seated there. MK days are just so magical but starting it off with Kona and finishing with BOG really is the icing on the cake!

Your day 2 plans sound fantastic. The tonga toast looks delicious.

I hope you get seated in the ballroom. All the rooms look incredible though. :goodvibes

I hope you have a good time camping and at the wedding!

Day 2 sounds lovely! I have never had Tonga...need to fix that one of these days for sure.

I am so excited for BOG I can't hardly stand it, but can't decide which room I would even want. I may need to go there twice just so I can see them all. :goodvibes

Mmmmm. Tonga toast. Yum yum yum!

You're going to love Be Our Guest! We were seated in the ball room. At first, I was a little bummed, because I actually wanted to sit in the West Wing, but it was really nice. I'm with MEK on the food. It's good food, just not great. But worth the experience.

That sounds like a great Disney day, in my opinion. Checking out the New Fantasyland is definitely something you have to when you first get to MK. It's spectacular. And The Little Mermaid is a very well-done ride.

I can see where you're coming from on the midday breaks. You have to leave some time to enjoy the beauty of AKL. And is it safe to say that I'm looking forward to your resort photos in your TR???:rotfl2:

Riding MK attractions during the nighttime shows is always a smart move. Typically shorter waits...

You are off being a wonderful Maid of Honor right now, but somewhere in your mind...thinking of tonga toast??? Which sounds and looks so amazing.

Glad you have survived the wedding things and can relax a little bit. The benefit for your cousin looks awesome.

Day Two...how much fun.
I have friends who were seated in the ballroom and were happy when they were told they could go in the others and look around as well. BUT do hope you get what you want.

Wendy- I am so glad to hear about the new options for your cousin and about the upcoming benefit for him. I truly believe that having hope, and a positive attitude can make all of the difference in the world.

The GIF with Wendy and the mermaids demonstrating your bachelorette party planning cracked me up!

So the wedding is over, now, too! :woohoo: I hope all went well, and that you were able to enjoy yourself. Where are the bride and groom off to for their honeymoon?

I love, love, love your Day 2 plans. Nothing better than starting a day at Kona, although for me, the best thing about Tonga toast is that my son is hooked on it so I have a guaranteed visit to enjoy MY favorite breakfast food: Macadamia Freaking Pineapple Pancakes!

All with bacon, of course.

Gonna be a great day at MK. I really like the pictures you chose for the rides, especially the one of Mexico in IASW

:banana::banana::banana: for Be Our Guest.

Just a quick note to say you guys all rock! I'm loving all the good luck wishes for the wedding events so I'm here to tell you that it went off perfectly! Everything was great an I am now relaxing in a cabin waiting for everyone else to get up (typical!) having a great time. If you want to see the couple of pictures I'm posting about the whole weekend you can find me on Instagram as teekathepony :)

Good morning!! I'm back after an interesting couple of weeks :crazy2: You trip report just makes me smile... you pick the best the pictures to go along with your commentary.

If you could blink your eyes and nod your head and be anywhere you wish, which would you choose...:

- Which Disney resort? WDW, Orlando
- Which park? All of them! Right now, I think I'd go with Hollywood Studios
- Which section? drawing a blank as to what it's called
- Which ride? Star Tours! Haven't been on it since the update, and I can't wait!!

So the bachelorette party is over.

And I know the question on your mind is...

Did I survive?

Yes.

Barely.

I don't drink alcohol, which is lucky because I felt bad enough yesterday as it was! I was out until 2 with the girls, we went back to the hotel room and deposited them safely and then I went home. Got to bed around 3:00am. My bed time is 9:30! :rotfl:

YAY!!!! So glad you guys were able to agree on a plan that sounds a lot more enjoyable than the original options! I don't drink either, and I'm a morning person so I'd be pretty exhausted myself.

Continued prayers for your cousin!

I hope that the wedding went well!

Your day 2 plans look great. Tonga Toast looks so delicious, mmm... The new Fantasyland is so beautiful, I can't wait to see all of your amazing photos of it! When we ate at BoG last December, we sat in the ballroom and I really agree with you - the whole place is really awesome, but nothing compares to that main room!

Glad to hear that the wedding went well. Hopefully all the angst over planning was worth it! :thumbsup2

Christine

Happy September! I'm so glad it's finally here, not to wish away the summer but man was August busy! I have so much to tell you and I have to catch up on your trip reports. I promise I will do all that today because I'm off and have nothing more to do than clean up my poor neglected house!

Your morning walk sounds wonderful. Glad that Sheeka is doing so well.
Very relaxing, and I'm so happy with Sheeka's progress!

Ah - Tonga Toast - I think you are right. I think it IS the best breakfast food on earth. :thumbsup2
And to add to that, absence makes the heart grow fonder! I can't wait to have some again!

Plans for the day look great. Your pictures are stunning! I love that lobby picture at the Poly. Your lesson can be to tell me how to achieve that look. Love it.
Thanks! The soft water is achieved with a slow shutter :thumbsup2 The rest is really thanks to the beautiful Poly!

Hope the wedding goes well this weekend! ::yes::
Very well, I must admit! Thanks!

Oh - and Bog was beautiful inside. the food was average, but the experience was great!
I think I'm ok with that, I'm really going there for the atmosphere!

Yeaaaa for Tonga Toast! I have that on my to do list this trip as well. Loved it last time. Just an awesome cube of rich, soft, sweet, deep-fried goodness. :rotfl:
That about sums it up perfectly! I'm hungry... wish I had some now pixiedust:

I share your excitement for BOG as well! Although I really want to be seated in the West Wing so I can stare at the Beast's portraits transformation in sync with the last petal of the rose falling.
I've heard a lot of people who want to be in the West Wing, I definitely want to go through and see it but the ballroom was what really captured my attention!

Happy Hump Day to you as well Wendy!

Ah Little Mermaid. Just the thought makes me smile. Yeah, I think I'm pretty much in the Ariel camp on fav princesses.
I do love Ariel, but Belle was always my fav until Merida came along. So let's say Ariel gets a solid third place rating from me. :rotfl:

Hahaha, I LOVE that picture of the Jungle Cruise skipper.
She was awesome, so in character even when her boat was empty!

What... No Wishes!!?? Hmmm, not sure I can forgive that one... :scratchin
Don't worry, I'll make up for it!

Other than that though, sounds like a good day.
I quite think so too. ::yes::

The ballroom looks amazing. I think I'll be disappointed if we end up not being seated there. MK days are just so magical but starting it off with Kona and finishing with BOG really is the icing on the cake!
I planned out the day logically, but when I sat back and saw what I had created I thought I was quite the genius for making such an awesome day of plans! :rotfl2:

Your day 2 plans sound fantastic. The tonga toast looks delicious.
Ohhh that Tonga Toast, we've been talking about that for almost a year now!

I hope you get seated in the ballroom. All the rooms look incredible though. :goodvibes
Very true, I'd be happy in any of the rooms for sure. The whole place is so well done!

I hope you have a good time camping and at the wedding!
Thanks, we had a great time!

Day 2 sounds lovely! I have never had Tonga...need to fix that one of these days for sure.
Yes you must! Tonga Toast is so very, very delicious!

I am so excited for BOG I can't hardly stand it, but can't decide which room I would even want. I may need to go there twice just so I can see them all. :goodvibes
That's a good plan! I had planned a lunch there in addition to my dinner. Hope it works out that we can!

I'm sort of glad to hear these reviews before I go. I'd be heart broken if I got there and was surprised to hate the food! :rotfl2: But it's all good, I have to see the inside of that place for myself! I keep changing my mind on where I want to sit so I can honestly say I don't think I can be disappointed.

That sounds like a great Disney day, in my opinion. Checking out the New Fantasyland is definitely something you have to when you first get to MK. It's spectacular. And The Little Mermaid is a very well-done ride.
I can't wait to see it all, looks so awesome and the parts I did see last year were awesome even though they were nowhere near done!

I can see where you're coming from on the midday breaks. You have to leave some time to enjoy the beauty of AKL. And is it safe to say that I'm looking forward to your resort photos in your TR???:rotfl2:
I'm looking forward to taking them! :rotfl:

Riding MK attractions during the nighttime shows is always a smart move. Typically shorter waits...
As long as I know I have some Wishes time later in the week, I like taking advantage of the shorter waits at night!

You are off being a wonderful Maid of Honor right now, but somewhere in your mind...thinking of tonga toast??? Which sounds and looks so amazing.
Hahaha I thought of many different Disney topics that day -- my happy place!

Thank you, and I completely agree, a positive attitude can change everything!

The GIF with Wendy and the mermaids demonstrating your bachelorette party planning cracked me up!
Omg I saw that and knew I needed to use it, it just sums up the whole thing quite well.

So the wedding is over, now, too! :woohoo: I hope all went well, and that you were able to enjoy yourself. Where are the bride and groom off to for their honeymoon?
It's all over and I can barely believe it! I feel a little lost today with nothing wedding related to do. I think I'm going to burn my wedding planning notebook and make it really official. :rotfl: They're not having a traditional honeymoon, they opted for what they called a "Funnymoon" -- a big group of us all went around Cape Breton together and stayed in cabins by the beach. We had a blast! They are saving up to possibly go to Jamaica in the early winter though.

:banana::banana::banana: for Be Our Guest.

I'm already looking forward to that day and all the wonderful things it will bring!

Good morning!! I'm back after an interesting couple of weeks :crazy2: You trip report just makes me smile... you pick the best the pictures to go along with your commentary.
Ahhh it seems everyone's been having an interesting August! Glad I could make you smile :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

YAY!!!! So glad you guys were able to agree on a plan that sounds a lot more enjoyable than the original options! I don't drink either, and I'm a morning person so I'd be pretty exhausted myself.
It all worked out for the best and best of all - surprised the bride!

Continued prayers for your cousin!
Thank you, I really appreciate it!

I hope that the wedding went well!
It did, very well in fact.

I just can't get over the amazing job they did on all of the NFL, especially that Ballroom! Just amazing. Just when you think there can't possibly any space to get better!

Glad to hear that the wedding went well. Hopefully all the angst over planning was worth it! :thumbsup2

Christine
Thanks, yes now that it's over I think I can say it really was worth it. Glad to have it over though!

I love lists. Here is a list of the lists I have to make:

To-do list: A general purpose list of all the things I have to get done before I leave for Disney.
To-buy list: A shopping list for things I need to buy, specific to the trip.
Must-do list: All the things I hope to accomplish while in the parks, this helps me to budget my time.
To-pack list: As we get closer I make two copies of my list of what I need to pack. One list I cross off each item as I put it in, the other I double check everything on the last day.
Counter service list: I make a list of all the counter service offerings in the World to help me to NOT have chicken fingers for lunch every day!

One last thing before I sign off for today. I did this last year and thought it was a fun thing to do again.

If you could blink your eyes and nod your head and be anywhere you wish, which would you choose...:

- Which Disney resort? (WDW? DLP? California?)
- Which park? (If applicable) (Epcot, MK, etc.)
- Which section? (Tomorrowland, world showcase, Pixar Place, etc.)
- Which ride? (RnR? TSM? Teacups?)

I love your lists!! People shouldn't under-estimate the importance of lists!

oh, something fun. I'm in:
Disney resort: WDW
Park: Hollywood Studios
Section: At Hollywood and Sunset Blvds
Ride: Tower of Terror - front row thank you very much!

Nice sharp castle, thanks to a tripod!

15. The most important thing: PRACTICE!
If your town has fireworks, use that as an opportunity to practice shooting fireworks. It gets easier and easier!

WOW! Just WOW!!! I don't think that even with practice I would EVER have photos like these!

As for your other news and announcements. I'm glad to hear that the bachelorette stuff turned out ok. Good luck with the wedding this weekend.

Sorry about your cousin but it sounds like some promising options. I wish them the best with the benefit event.

Seems like there was something else I was going to say but.... old age and what not....

I'm glad I got caught up!! I always love your gifs and photos!!

Oh. Em. Gee.

I feel like it's been about 4 months since I got to sit and update normally instead of from the iPad on my lunch break or in a stolen moment in the morning when I should have been getting ready for work. It's actually only been 8 days!

So what's been happening in those 8 days?

tumblr_m88qd3XNIB1r0txp9o1_500.gif

Well you know that the bachelorette party went well and for that I am thankful.

The wedding was Friday and it went very smoothly (you know, for a wedding!) The weather wasn't good, but we made the best of it. When she has her pictures I'll share a few, but it probably won't be for a few months.
Until then, enjoy the only picture (so far) of me that day!

With my good friend Steph on the right.

In lieu of a traditional honeymoon, the bride and groom chose to spend the long weekend in cabins at Ingonish with friends. We were among those friends! I can honestly say I've never had a better time. I met lots of new people and enjoyed every second. We had a bonfire each night with guitars and the sound of the waves crashing right in front of us and a few drinks, for those who like them.

What a time! Here are a few pictures from the weekend:

We had a great time! Unfortunately though, thanks to some very late nights I am still trying to catch up on sleep, as well as house work! :laundy:

One major new development happened during my time away!

The Wishes Dessert Party watch thread was predicting Aug. 30th to be the day the ADRs would open for November. I was terrified since that was the day of the wedding! I had a bad feeling that I was going to miss it. I had Johnny on the Dis and taught him how to check the watch thread and how to make the reservation, just in case.

Wednesday the 28th, in the evening. I was about to get ready for bed and picked up my iPad to check the Dis. Johnny was watching something on the desktop. I opened the Dis, the first thing I saw was: " Wishes Dessert Party ADR Watch Tread #3 - November 2013 OPEN!!! "

"JOHNNY!!!! Get on the Disney site, now!!!"

I came running into the computer room as he fumbled for the right url. Eventually he gave up the captain's chair and my fingers flew over the keys, bringing up the Disney site, the reservations, the dessert party and finally, booking a table for two at 8:00pm.

:dance3: :cheer2:    pixiedust:

This was only about an hour after it actually opened. It caught a lot of people by surprise being in the evening of a Wednesday. BUT the bottom line is that we're in, no Phantom Baby necessary.

So! Onto the plans.

Day 3
November 14

We will be starting out the day bright and early.

7:30am: Animal Kingdom Lodge - Boma

Our first of two breakfasts at Boma and very much a favourite!

From there we will head on over to Animal Kingdom for the day.

Plans are very loose and easy going for the day. We have a vague list of must-do's and as long as we get those done I'll be happy.

We have another ADR for this day!

4:00pm: Animal Kingdom - Yak & Yeti

If you've been paying close attention, you might be saying "Umm, I don't remember this in the list!" and you would be right. We decided last minute to add it. Why?

For these:

The wontons. Yes indeed, the wontons. Dee-freaking-licious. It had to be an early dinner because we have some other plans for the evening and don't want to be late!

7:00pm: Magic Kingdom - Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

Castle%20Lighting%20Animation%2001.gif

This one we knew was a definite right from the start. We basically wanted to go in November solely for the party! I was so excited to book our tickets!

Mickey%27s%20Christmas%20Party%2046.jpg

We're hoping to do as much of the party specific activities as possible. Definitely the parade and the fireworks for sure!

disneychristmasparade.jpg

Can't wait for some hot cocoa and cookies.

Mickey%27s%20Christmas%20Party%2015.jpg

I'm a huge Christmas lover, I really can't tell you how much. I'm already counting down and making lists! This party for me is just the combination of everything that makes me warm and fuzzy.

We plan to stay all night for the party and do all the party activities as well as perhaps a few rides. Then it's back to bed and get ready to start it all over again!

Ugh I'm so jealous that you get to go to MVMCP. The only time I went around christmas time was for new years so the parties were done. I was wondering (and this is probably a dumb question since you are doing it again but) do you think the desert party is worth it? We will be there next summer for my parents 30th anniversary and I thought this might make a good surprise for them.
p.s. I really hope your cousin gets better or at least that the treatment helps. I know how hard it is when a family member has cancer so I'm praying for you and your family.

Part of me secretly wishes I booked our Jan trip in December so I could see the Christmas decor... (Sigh)

I love your plans!! I'm so completely excited for you (plus I am rocking a serious Disney buzz right now!!) I was thinking of doing the dessert party on our Jan trip, but I may save it for next December.... I really need to hit mega millions so I can vacation at WDW on a whim!!

Also, what an awesome weekend - it looks absolutely stunning up there... I think it's about 10 hours from me - we are looking for somewhere to go next summer.... Hmmmm So beautiful though! I'd probably have to get a passport....

You looked wonderful for the wedding. I love your dress. What a fun weekend after the wedding. With the bonfires and the waves crashing it sounds like such a relaxing place.

Your pictures of Cape Breton are amazing! Such a pretty place. We lived in Maine for a short period and it reminds me of there. Still want to get back up that way.

Yea for getting the Wishes Dessert party reservation! Only DIS-er would frantically stalk the reservation threads - afterall, that’s why we’re DIS-er’s.

Love your day 3 plans, AK and then MVMCP. We went to MVMCP several years ago and it was one of the most memorable nights at the MK that I have ever had. So wonderful.

Christine

Congrats on the Dessert Party!

It just warmed my heart seeing the picture of the two of you with EE in the background......and a giant cameras/lens strapped around your shoulders! :thumbsup2 ;) Just like me. I'm still trying to get used to the looks and attention my gear draws from passerbys when I'm out and about especially the 70-200mm. Even my 17-55mm draws comments especially with the hood on. While meeting and greeting DD, Aladdin looked up and commented on how much bigger my camera was compared to the Photopass photog's camera. :rotfl:

On our to-do list is MVMCP. I really want to see the Christmas decorations. Everytime we've gone in the last week of January, we do get to see the giant crane parked by the Castle taking the lights off. I don't think the crane counts. :lmao:

What a fun day!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will miss the Christmas party and I would love to try it someday but I love all your AK yumminess and it will be a cool contrast to go from that to the party.

Very glad to hear the wedding went well and that everyone had a fun weekend. Sleep is overrated anyway. :rotfl:
