What's the castle look like NOW?

We are thinking about going in 2 weeks. What does the castle look like now or what will it look like in 2 weeks? Is it going to be covered? If so we will wait until April or may to go.

No. It is still the same castle. It will get changed in or around March I heard. If you want to see what it looks like:

Not to my knowledge. But when they do make these new changes, I dont think they will be all that bad. It wouldnt be so bad if they left the trimmings up permenantly minus the gold statues. The statues would be an eyesore. But I love the gold trimmings.

the cul-de-sac area in front of the castle is enclosed in a green wall. You can't see the statue of Walt/Mickey. So, the castle end of Main Street is where the wall is located.

They started earlier than I was told they were going to. WOW!

It wont look all that bad. Some people are saying in some threads that it is going to just about ruin their vacation. Why?

Do you know if there will still be a wall/crane around the castle during my trip in 3 weeks? I hope not, although it won't make or break my trip.

DH just got his Mickey Monitor and it had a picture of what the castle is going to look like for the 50th celebration. WOW!!! It is going to be ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. It will be decked out in gold filigree, with scenes from Walt Disney movies in what looks like windows. Breathtaking and absolutely worth the covering of the castle to get it done!

I haven't read anything about the crane near the castle. Please tell me about this.

The right pathway leading around the back of the castle is closed off. There is a large crane sitting to the right in the back of the castle. It isn't the path in the front of the castle.

I just came back from MK. There is a crane up behind the castle. The right sidewalk is closed off that goes around the back of the castle.

Also I looked at construction walls today and it is the wall by Ariel and Dumbo, Small World that has the characters on the wall. The walls around the hub aren't decorated but now have a sign mentioning the work is for the celebration.

We are going with our kids (7 and 10), and this may be our only trip! What a shame if there is no castle!

We are going march 5-12. Someone said they are starting march 1. Does that mean the castle will be covered up then?

So does anyone know when the construction will be finished. I know it will be done by May but do you know when they actually plan to be done? I would love to see it done completely and without hte pictures being the artists rendering ones like what I have.

I think I was the one that said March 1. Seems I heard wrong. Sorry. They have already started. I hope they are done by the time you go. They have alot done already so may be they will.
