What's the busy week in February?

I normally take my son to Disneyland for his birthday, but this year I'm going to have to postpone a month. I'm looking at isitpacked, and the week I was hoping to go (February 19-25), is showing as packed.

Is there a holiday in the states or some sort of school break that week?

President's day. Plenty of schools have some sort of break that aligns with it.

Last year they did AP appreciation month for the whole month, and it was crowded every day. Plus February is one of the times they invite middle and high school groups to perform, you'll see 4-5 per day in the parks. This seems like something the crowd sites don't account for.

Yeah, just when you think there could be some time of the year disneyland might be a little less crowded, they find a way to make it as packed as possible. :teeth::rolleyes:

Disney's Goal, 95% of capacity, every day of the year, and they get closer every year......

While it will be packed for President's Day week (our school district takes the whole week off), they will also have longer hours and more entertainment. You could change your plans to go a different week, but the longer hours may work out in your favor if you like to get there bright and early and then either stay late or take a break and come back later in the evening.

I agree. The longer hours turned out to be huge advantage to our very crowd-avoidant family. We bought AP's this year, our first experience of Disneyland, and have gone several times throughout the year. To my amazement, I enjoyed our July and August trips (super crowded times) most because the parks open so early and stay open so late every night that we were able to leave the park each morning before the insane onslaught of people, then nap and return late at night when the crowds were better. I loved it but was not expecting to. The mid-day and early evening crowd in the Summer was too much for me though. Could be the same during President's Day time.

We've now gone 2 years in a row in February. We arrive at the parks the Wednesday of President's Day week, and it has been very manageable the last 2 years. I think also many people stay for a long weekend & leave Tue evening or Wednesday when they arent in the parks. The Thursday is more of a busy day, the Friday has been PACKED each year. Then again - EVERY FRIDAY we've been, even in off season, has been PACKED. It didn't deter us enough to not choose that week, especially since the kids have 2 free days off of school (Chicagoland, our district has MOnday - federal holiday, then Tuesday, Teacher institute day).
