I was wondering whats the big difference between WDW and Disneyland..

My husband and I are already planning for Disneyland. I've never been to disneyland and was wondering what are the big differences between them?

I see some of the rides have the same names as the ones in WDW (I've been to WDW Toooo Many Times to Count) are they the exact same rides???

Can anyone help??

Are you asking for the differences between Disneyland and Walt Disney World as resorts or Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom as theme parks?

Well it's a bit smaller then WDW. And when i say a bit it doesn't mean a bit.

The whole Magic Kingdom parking is as big as the whole Disney Land.

I have never been to Disney Land either but I don't know if it's got the same "magic" as WDW.

But it's always good to have new expirences.

Have a great time at the trip!

The Disneyland Park is essentially a smaller, more intimate version of the Magic Kingdom. Most who have visited both prefer Disneyland by a wide margin, including myself.

From what I can remember, their Space Mountain is a more traditional steel coaster than WDW's, which is more like a Wild Mouse. It doesn't have any inversions, but it has a syncrhonized sound track.

Pirates is longer and more elaborate.

They have several unique attractions, including the Matterhorn bobsleds and the Indiana Jones Adventure Ride.

I can't really comment on Disney's California Adventure - I haven't been there yet and probably won't have a chance to go until next year at the earliest.

I think you'll enjoy Disneyland. It has more to offer than the Magic Kingdom in terms of raw attractions, though, yes, it's a bit cramped and it's not the kind of perfect themed environment since you can see all of the non-Disney motels and eateries over the berm throughout the park.

However, you have other new rides (besides Matterhorn -- and Indy -- which is far superior to the Dinosaur ride at Animal Kingdom). You have Roger Rabbit Toon Town Spin, Pinocchio, you get to ride Mr. Toad.

Other rides have subtle difference. Small World starts outside. Other small touches here and there.

Maybe the grass is always greener -- I've spent maybe 6-7 days in Disneyland and over a hundred at the Florida parks -- but Disneyland has a different kind of charm than Magic Kingdom, and so much to do for such a small place!

The Roger Rabbit ride is for young childern I think in would appeal to adults. I thought it was not worth the wait of 35 minutes. ToonTown where the ride is seemed to me to be alot more streched out. Instead of Goofy's ride they have I think it is Chip and Dale's ride. It is a small rollar coaster. They have story book land which is nice. It is a boart ride where you go through and they have alot of the fair tale stories in miniature. Like Aladians castle. The Matterhorn is old. It seems to me a bit tame, but it was a nice experience. Pirates has two drops. You get to see alot of skelletons. Which is real interesting. Space Mountain is a trip. You sit side by side in the car it holds six people three in front three in back. When you start up the incline you need to look over to your right. The space imagine is really great. When you start down the ride the music start and continues until it ends. I don't ride space mountain at WDW anymore because the one at Disneyland is so much better. The que is also alot more themed as well. They have the paddle wheel boat and they have a sailing ship that you can ride on around the lagoon. They have fantasmic in Tom Sawers Island. You watch it outside from shore. The bears are gone. They closed this year. California Experience I have no idea about it. When I was there last all they had was an empty area. Hope this helps. It is not as big as WDW but it is different in some ways. Have fun.
