I am just curious about a few things.

What place has the best:

Cheeseburger
mashed potatoes
french fries
chicken
shakes
desserts
spaghetti
ice cream
eggs benedict
steak
ribs
hot dogs
pizza
soup
bread
sandwiches
chocolate

This includes the resorts too. popcorn::

Cheeseburger - I liked all the CS burgers.
mashed potatoes - Raglan Road
french fries - I liked all the CS fries
chicken - Chicken sandwich from WPExpress
shakes - Sci Fi
desserts - Creme Brulee, anywhere.
ice cream - POP Food court sundaes.
steak - Le Cellier
ribs - Rainforest Cafe
hot dogs - Caseys
pizza - POP
soup - Cap N Jacks
bread - Kona Cafe
sandwiches - EOS
chocolate - Dunbrody Kiss from Raglan Road

Haven't tried all of these things, but here's my opinion on some. You might see a pattern in fav. restaurants ;)

Cheeseburger: Beaches & Cream for me, Sci-Fi for DBF
mashed potatoes: not exactly traditional mashed potatoes, but at Boma they had this amazing dish called Fufu that was a sweet potato & white potato mixture. I'm not a mashed potato fan, but I loved these!!
french fries: Beaches & Cream & The Mara
chicken: 50's Prime Time grilled chicken dish & The Mara for chicken strips
shakes: Sci-Fi
desserts: Boma & Main Street Bakery
spaghetti: Never had
ice cream: Beaches & Cream & Giradelli
eggs benedict: Never had
steak: Never had
ribs: Never had
hot dogs: Never had
pizza: Didn't find one I loved
soup: Boma!!
bread: LTT rolls
sandwiches: Captain Cooks at Poly
chocolate: didn't have

I'm sure others will have a wider variety, but HTH!!

Cream Cheese mashed potatoes at le cellier are my fav!!!!! fav soup was the tomato soup at The Plaza

I have never had couscous before. Im curious as to what it is exactly.

Basically its like a kind of rice dish (or at least this is the easiest way to describe it). The bits are smaller and less elongated than rice but if cooked without seasoning its got very little flavour. If however cooked in brooth of any sort it has a fantastical flavour and can be really good. Its cooked in boiled water and expands slightly when cooked. Usually served with as a dish with a sauce or as an accompliment

Cheeseburger: Rarely eat these anywhere but I do like the ones they serve at the Food court in Port Orleans Riverside
mashed potatoes: Don't eat mash anywhere except the cheese mash in Le Cellier which is gorgeous! Did have Jalepeno mash in Hollywood Brown Derby and this was OK.
french fries: Fiagaro Fries at Pinnochio's Magic Kingdom (have cheese and bacon on top mmmm)
chicken: Chicken strips at any Counter Service taste good to me. Also they used to (not sure if still on menu) do a roast chicken in the Rose & Crown and this was lovely
shakes: Sci-Fi or at the Tune-In-Lounge in Hollywood Studios
desserts: Main Street Bakery or the Cheesecake factory in DisneyQuest
spaghetti: Only ever had in L'Original Alfredo de Roma and this is no longer there (also wasn't very nice)
ice cream: Beaches & Cream & Giradelli
eggs benedict: Never had but my Dad had this at Chef Mickey's I believe (or something similar) and said it was lovely
steak: ChatauxBriand at Yauchtsman Steakhouse is to die for. It just melts on your tongue. Or Buffallo Steak at Artist Point in Wilderness Lodge is wonderful. And in a park Le Cellier every time in EPCOT as this does amasing steaks well cooked and seasoned to perfection.
ribs: Never had
hot dogs: Don't really like American Hot Dogs
pizza: Don't like many of the pizza's on property but the Room Service pizza in Port Orleans Riverside is fantastic
soup: Boma - the Butternut Squash and the Coconut curry or Columbia Harbour House in Magic Kingdom's Veggie Chilli
bread: Pretzel bread in Le Cellier is nice, the Foccacia bread used in the Lighthouse Sandwich at Columbia Harbour House in Magic Kingdom is fantastic
sandwiches: As said above the Lighthouse Sandwich which is hummous and salad mmm really nice in the soup&sandwich combo meal with the veggie chilli
chocolate: Don't like American chocolate but the sweet shop in Magic Kingdom has a nice selection or the Goofy Candy store where you can make your own chocolate apples/pretzels/mickey heads/well everything really
Couscous: I know you didn't ask but seeing as it was mentioned, best couscous is Resturant Marrakesh in Morroco pavillion in EPCOT have a wonderful veggie couscous with a sauce on it. Boma's does a nice couscous too.

I like the following

Cheeseburger - Cosmic Ray's (Tomorrowland) & Pecos Bill (Frontierland) in the MK

mashed potatoes - I don't eat them at WDW

french fries - The McDonald's locations - Frontierland Fries @ MK (near Splash Mountain), Refreshment Port near Canada @ Epcot, Fairfax Fries on Sunset Blvd @ Hollywood Studios & Petrifries in Dinoland @ AK

chicken - not sure exactly what you are looking for, but the chicken strips are pretty good at any cs, also Cosmic Rays has a good grilled chicken sandwich and SciFi has a great grilled chicken sandwich too!

shakes - SciFi @ Hollywood Studios, also, although i've not been yet (trying for the 1st time this trip), I hear the Whispering Canyon @ Wilderness Lodge has good shakes (and they are all you can drink for one price).

desserts - Main Street Bakery on Main Street in the MK & Boulangerie Pattiserie in France @ Epcot, oh and if you like crepes, there is a great little crepe place alongside WS lagoon outside of France

spaghetti - I don't eat it @ WDW

ice cream - Beaches & Cream @ the Yacht & Beach Club (I highly recommend the No Way Jose if you like Peanut Butter).

eggs benedict - I don't eat eggs...EVER!

steak - Le Cellier in Canada @ Epcot (make the ADR as soon as you can, it is tough to get in!) By far the best meal overall in all of WDW!!!

ribs - Never had 'em @ WDW

hot dogs - Don't eat 'em...EVER!

pizza - I like the pizza @ Wolfgang Puck Cafe Express @ DTD, better than the cardboard pizza you might be likely to get elsewhere @ WDW

soup - Never had @ WDW

bread - Not exactly bread, but the ham & cheese croissants @ Boulangerie are excellent! Also, the breadsticks they bring prior to your meal @ Le Cellier are excellent!

sandwiches - None that I can think of.

chocolate - love Goofy's candy company @ DTD, if you can dream it, they most likely have it. Love the create your own snack, check it out....
