What's the best way to play this waitlist situation?

Hi. I'm currently wait-listing BCV for mid-Oct. (Yes, I'm not holdling out much hope). But here's my question: In the 10 days of my trip, 3 of the days are available right now at BCV. Should I go ahead and book those, and wait-list the rest? And then keep checking and picking up any single days of the trip a they become available? (and eventually hope to fill get the whole 10 days)? Or should I just wait-list the whole thing and hope for the best? What do you think?

The more days on a wait list, the harder it is to fill because they all have to come through.

If you are okay with doing a split stay (in case all the days don't come through), then I would go ahead, book what you can and then try to add as things happen.

Good luck!

Are you willing to move if the other nights don't become available? If so then your best possibility of getting all the days is booking what's open now and waitlisting the other nights.

If the nights are in the middle of your trip then you need to be willing to move twice to try that route. That isn't a route I'd go. But if the 3 nights are at one end or the other and I was willing to move once I'd book the 3 and choose to waitlist either all other nights or do 1 night at a time to fill in more.

It all depends whether your are willing to do a split stay. If you are, then book what you can and waitlist the rest. I tried this exact thing for my January 2012 trip. I wanted 10 days, and only got the last 5 at BWV-standard room, but the first 5 at OKW. I waitlisted for the first 5 at OKW hoping to move to BWV. I did this on the openning of the 7 month window and this was for the last week of January (I thought it might work out). It didn't work out and I stayed on the waitlist until the 7 days prior and even called up to the last day. I could never add on any additional days because they never openned up for me. So I did a split stay between OKW and BWV. While I enjoy both resorts, I'm not a fan of packing and moving. Good luck.

agree with the above posters, if you do not mind a split then the best way to get it is less days WL. I have a current WL in for THV 12/26-29 and when I made the WL 12/26 and 12/27 were available 12/28 I did not snag the 2 days available because it was in the middle of the 3 nights if the 1st 2 nights were or last 2 nights were available I would have taken the chance. Now only 1 night is available. Good luck

Another consideration (in case you are not aware) is that members are allowed only two active waitlists at a time. Are the available nights at BCV consecutive? If they are then you can waitlist the nights before them as one waitlist and the nights after them as your second waitlist. If they are not consecutive then it becomes more difficult. Any individual nights you might need in between those available BCV nights will count as a separate waitlist, leaving you no more waitlists for the nights before/after those available nights until at least one of those in between waitlists comes through.

I think a Wait List is most successful if it has as few days as possible. I am currently waiting for 2 days and I put a separate wait list request in for both.

After posting this today my 3 night WL for THV came through today:banana: I really did not think it would but now I am pumped! Still going to try for BWV or AKV at 7 month mark but if it is unavailable no big deal - love the THV's!
