What's the Best Timing to Book a Summer Trip?

I'm so used to go to Disneyland for only one day at a time, but friends and I are lightly considering a multi-day trip this summer where we stay on site (but ideally not at Paradise Pier). Dates and days of the week are pretty much open.

I really have no idea if the best window for deciding on a summer trip is already open, or if it's best we wait a little longer. We aren't Star Wars fans so don't really plan on considering access to Galaxy's Edge any kind of priority (though hopefully it's calmed down by then!).

Thoughts?

Between Tues 5/26 and Thurs 6/11 would be my preferred dates to go based on weather and when schools get out. Make your hotel reservations earlier rather than later because cheapest prices are to be had the early you book a hotel.

Ah, I am more curious about WHEN to book than the best time to go (though that is helpful as well!). We would probably go in late June, July or August though, as getting time off in early June isn't really realistic for some of us.

Thank you!

Ok. Book now.

Check the dates for Grad Nites (ending by mid June) and the AP Blockout Calendar. Does Marvel matter to you? Avengers Campus should open "Summer 2020," but we don't have an official date yet. I would try to visit before the third week of August when HM should go down for the installation of the Halloween overlay, when the lower AP blockout should begin to lift, and when the parks should go back to the non-peak/low season schedule. Also, the 4th of July falls on a Saturday this year, so that weekend will probably be pretty busy. Star Wars Celebration will be in Anaheim this year at the end of August, so that's another busy week to avoid. With all that in mind, just pick the dates that work best for you and your friends, double check here to make sure that nothing crazy will coincide with your dates, then book and plan your trip!
