and I dont mean the attractions on the maps
seems we go from attraction to attraction and dont catch many of the impromptu "shows"
with having 14park days this Aug what should we make sure we see?
Im already thinking of alot more "shows" in the EpCot countries

Try to catch Devine in AK she's really incredible to watch. Also, I know it's on the map but I think many people overlook the Flights of Wonder show at AK. We always did, but it's truly amazing!

I love the Living Statue show in Italy of Epcot.

We also really liked the Beauty and the Beast show at MGM.

We caught the guys in France that balance chairs and such. They are funny if you get to see them. We LOVE the candy lady in Japan. She is great to watch and amazing what she does. (free candy doesn't hurt either) The little gymnastics kids in China are good too. MGM the goofy skits are good especially the workmen who drive the little truck. Animal Kingdom has a balancing act in Dinoland (at least they did in Dec) they were really good too.

Definately DeVine at AK. My DH is a hunter and says he's going to steal her apparel for deer season. :rotfl2:

British Invasion
World Showcase PLayers (esp. if you are a MOnty Python fan)
LIving Statues
French guys on chairs were funny!
Flights of Wonder
Turtle Talk with Crush in Living Seas

the lion king show in animal kingdom is the best! :sunny: i also love miyuki, the candy lady in epcot. the band that plays in mexico is also fantastic. i've never been disappointed with any of the performers in the world showcase, in fact.

Off Kilter in Canada at EPCOT! This group is aptly named as you never know what they will come up with next. They play Celtic music with a strong rock influence, as well as rock, country, traditional, oldies, and whatever else they decide on that day. These guys are consumate musicians, who obviously love what they do, and it shows as they banter with the audience which has fans from 2-82. They seem to appeal to everyone. They even leave a space in the front of the benches for the little kids who simply cannot sit still and just "need" to dance to the music. They usually play Sunday through Thursday afternoons and early evenings, but that changes sometimes. Oh, they also wear kilts and are so popular that often the walkway by Canada is jammed with spectators.

I used to really like the British Invasion, but they have changed and no longer sound like the Beatles.

We love the shows in World Showcase. Love the Living Statue in Italy, the bubble/mime guy in France, the Chinese Acrobats, the Candy Art woman in Japan. The Sword in the Stone in Fantasyland was cute. We also love to watch the street performers, a.k.a Would Be's and Has Beens Indicative of the Era" at MGM. At Animal Kingdom, we love the living tree.

These little "shows" make Disney very special, don't you think?

The acrobats in China in Epcot (right outside 9 Dragons restaurant). The things these kids can do are absolutely amazing!!!

Taking literally your wish that it "not be on the map".

MGM: Four For A Dollar, an a capella group that performs before the Beauty and the Beast show. They are so good that more than a year later, I can still remember the songs they sang!

Epcot: World Showcase Players. They are a lot of fun, especially when I was picked to play Scrooge in their version (the "silly version") of A Christmas Carol. It was the highlight of my trip that year. Also you may have meant to exclude it, but I think Illuminations is the best show/attraction/anything at WDW, and with the new speaker system is better than ever.

MK: Cinderella's Surprise Celebration will soon be replaced, so if you haven't seen it yet, do so. Also the Wishes show is a lot more than fireworks and not to be missed.

AK: Lion King is great, but it's on the map. The first time we went to AK, there was a wonderful performance of African drummers in Harambe village that I gladly spent 15-20 minutes watching/listening, even though I was in commando mode.

Don't forget to check out http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/index.htm for an exhaustive listing of the kind of things you are looking for.

EPCOT.......The best shows to catch are Morockin in Morocco's World Showcase pavilion with their very own belly dancer and of course the corny yet highly amusing World Showcase Players . The Chinese and Moroccan acrobats are also a lot of fun also.

......but if you REALLY want a show that's amusing and also has great music....then DO NOT miss Off Kilter in the Canadian pavilion. They are 5 kilted lads who know how to rock and even throw a few really amusing jokes in the act....they can even dance!!! If you like them enough you can even buy their CD's in the shop or visit their website on line....

Out of EPCOT.......Lion King show in Animal Kingdom and Wishes and the show at the Castle in the Magic Kingdom is also cool.

....Off Kilter is a blast don't miss iit!!!

:cool1: :rolleyes1 :music:

If you go at christmas time don't forget to see the Monkey King in China. He is soooo funny and made our day with his mood! :rotfl:

I have to agree with most above... I love all the shows.

DD's favorite was Belle's Storybook but I think it's on the map

I'm going to save this thread to make sure I check them all out!

Animal Kingdom you really definitely HAVE to see The Festival of the Lion King

At Disney MGM, see Beauty and the Beast, Live on Stage and of course, Fantasmic.

At Epcot, make sure to see the acrobats located by The Fountain of Nations and the acrobats in China. In Italy, stop by to see the living statues, and in Japan, make sure not to miss the Japanese drummers. STay and see Illuminations at night.

At Magic Kingdom, if you are there after May 5th, definitely see Cindercelabration and of course, do NOT miss Wishes.

Have a great time!

I'm surprised no one's mentioned the best show I've seen-the Streetmosphere characters in MGM. I'm so disappointed there's no show schedule listed for them. Another one I really enjoy, but I think it's listed, is the Animal Training shows of Pocahontos. For anyone who loves animals, this is a must-do.

Here's another vote for the hilarious, hunky, entertaining group of guys, also known as Off Kilter!!! They are a not to be missed staple of all my visits to the Happiest Place on Earth. Stop for a few minutes to watch and you will be hooked.

Off Kilter gets another vote here :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

MK: Gotta catch the Dapper Dans - barbershop quartet. They hang around Main Street. Also catching Scoop Sanderson the Main Street Reporter. Great to listen to!

AK: I never miss Festival of the Lion King

MGM: Now that Hunchback is gone.... I like to watch the Streetsmosphere. It is not a "show" I enjoy "One Man's Dream" which is all about Walt

I agree with the others that love Off Kilter! :rockband:
They have the honor of being Disney Magazine's #1 rated musical act at WDW, as voted by the people.
They can be seen on their own special outdoor stage at the Canadian Pavilion at Epcot. If you can only see one set (big mistake), see the last set of the evening to really have a lively experience!
:cool1:  :cheer2: :rotfl2: :bounce: :rolleyes1  :Pinkbounc
ROCK ON!!!

At Animal Kingdom: the acrobats who performed in the Harambe Village

At EPCOT: the World Showcase Players in the UK and in Italy; the street performer in France who works with colleague and one or both of them end up balancing on a pile of chairs; the acrobats in China

Magic Kingdom: Storytime with Belle

Of the 'on the map' shows: Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom and Hunchback of Notre Dame at MGM were favorites. Alas, Hunchback was closed a couple of years ago, and I miss it. Any chance, it could be re-staged at EPCOT or Magic Kingdom?
