Uugh, worked outside all day (nice here in NE tpday) and boy do my feet hurt. What would you say are the most comfortable walking shoe/sneaker for the parks?

Last time we went, I made sure I walked a little each day so as to build up some stamina. It really helped.

I need a new pair of some sort of shoes, so might as well get something comfie :teeth:

Have a nice night.

As far as sneakers, I always go for New Balance. They are comfy and fairly light weight..... I've tried on lots of comfy shoes, but some are very heavy.... don't like the way that feels! Yes, we did have nice weather here in NE today didn't we. Went and picked out Christmas tree out in the back yard, but didn't cut it yet. DH got the last of the tulip bulbs in the ground finally! This is probably the last of the nice weather we will see for a looooong time!! Already had snow here in NH!.....:D

I agree with pjlla. I swear by New Balance #608. They keep me and my hard-to-fit feet nice and comfie throughout the parks.

Another vote for New Balance. I love mine. However, when we go to Disney, I prefer sandals (hate sweaty feet!). I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Land's End (think they are called Comfort Slides?)...the sole is like a sneaker, but they are a slide sandal. They are the most comfortable sandals I've ever worn! I bring my sneakers too, but mostly wear the sandals.

Nike straprunners! I bought mine last spring after reading so much about them here and have worn them on the past two WDW trips 5 days and 12 days and wore them all summer. I hate sweaty feet and I also don't like it when my shoes get wet(water rides and frequent rain storms) these dry fast and they are lightweight and not to pricey.
HTH

another New Balance fan here - Even the times I have taken them out of the box the day we start out for the parks they have been comfie all day and into the evening.

I also have a pair of NB 608's and love them! They are the most comfortable pair of sneakers I've ever owned!

My feet get so hot when I wear sneakers at WDW! I wear Cobble Cuddler sandals, and the cushioning really takes care of my feet.

Big Merrell fan here! No breaking in required! I wore them for a full week at WDW with NO problems. The only thing if you wear sandals is to remember to put sunscreen on your feet!

Where is a good place to buy the New Balance and how much??

Thanks,
Pam

I have gotten them at Penney's, foot locker, MVP sports and have seen them at Sports Authority and several of the discount shoe places in outlet malls. I have always been lucky and got them on sale so only paid $29-$40.

I bought mine at Kohl's, on sale for $40. You can, pretty much, find them at most stores that sell name brand sneakers. Good luck and have fun! :D

I am a fan of New Balnace 608 tennis shoes to. I worn them over the summer working at the Baseball Park and my feet didnot hurt a bit. Also worn at WDW this summer do blisters either.

Do the NB 608 run true to size, smaller, or larger? I would like to order the ones on sale at JCPenney, but I need some help figuring the size.

Thanks!

When I clicked on the link from the other post there was a point in the order process that tells you haow to measure your foot to determine your size. Maybe that will help. I have found they run pretty true to size

Just ordered these from the other post letting us know about the sale at JCPenneys.

I was wondering, has anyone wore these types of sports shoes through the airport? Do they go through the scanner alright?

The reason I ask is because in September, I for some Dr. Scholl's walking shoes through the airport and was stopped at screening because they set off the alarm. Apparently, there was metal in the bottom of the shoes (I saw it on the x-ray).

I would really love to have some shoes I could wear through the airport without getting stopped!

Thanks!
DJ

I specifically went shoe shopping before my last trip, just for this reason!

I also like New Balance in general but I couldn't find a pair that I liked or in my size so I wound up getting a pair of Easy Spirits and I LOVE them!

I got them at some department store in the mall. They were $80 and worth every penny. Easy Spirit has different levels of walking shoes and these were level 3, the hightest, meaning they were more durable, comfortable, and really lightweight! They were not only good for walking but standing in line! Some shoes are OK to walk in, but not stand around in.

Check out Easy Spirits for walking shoes, I LOVE mine!

Another vote for New Balance. But I find my Teva Sandals very comfortable also so for:
Sneakers = New Balance
Sandals = Teva

After our trip in October I will probably wear sandals or some other slip on shoes through the airport again. In Providence you didn't have a chance to find out if they would get through the scanner -EVERYONE- put their shoes through the x-ray machine-
I wore sandals that time as I had been warned about it and hope I can get something easy to get off and back on that will work in the December weather. I had my sneakers in the carry on in case we couldn't get into the room right away and wanted to do some walking when we first got there so don't know if the would have made it through a scanner. .
