We visited Millie in November...

DH and I love Millie. I know you can't pet them, but she always looks like she would like to have a hug.

Also where can you go in today's world and watch horses being washed and dried. Maybe if you live on a farm, but for us "city" folk I love catching the action at TCD when they are grooming the horses.

It is the one place my husband will relax at when we are on vacation.

The first time I camed at the fort was five years ago. We had gone with two other families. It was the most fun I had in a long time. Life in the real world was overwhelming at that time. My DH & I were dealing with aging parents. My mother was in the early stages of alzheimers and his mother was in failing health. For the time we were at WDW we were able to put all of that aside relax and have a great time. We were hooked. We would spend more time there if we lived closer.

Funny, but it's true of my husband also. We have never had a great vacation until FW. He could never relax and enjoy. He was always trying to find something to do and would make work if he had to. Now, we have wonderful things to do every day. Parkks, resort hopping, riding bikes, watching fireworks, boats, horses, etc. Many things we haven't done yet. Because some things are extra and pricey we try for a new thing each trip. Keeps him calm and relaxed and we both have a great time.

Classic Disney: Magic Kingdom is the original Disney theme park, first built in the original Disneyland in California, and now part of every Disney location (Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong, etc.) Signature attractions include The Haunted Mansion and the three mountain roller coasters (Space, Splash, and Thunder). Magic Kingdom is the top Disney World theme park for little kids, with attractions such as the Dumbo tea-cup ride, carousel, Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, etc.

Part of Epcot is a sort of permanent world's fair, with international pavilions, and hands-on exhibits at Future World. Some call it educational; but it's also very entertaining to tour the 11 countries surrounding the lagoon at World Showcase. Every pavilion has some type of live show, movie, or interactive experience. The pavilions also have great eats: from the casual (French patisserie, anyone) to fine dining.

Epcot also has plain ol' fun like the "Honey I Shrunk the Kids", Test Track rides, Soarin', and Mission Space.

With a Disney World vacation, theme parks are about much more than "rides". At no extra charge, guests can enjoy PARADES in the day-time at several parks, and beautiful night parade in Magic Kingdom; IllumiNations, unique spectacle at night at Epcot, followed by fireworks; more FIREWORKS, at Magic Kingdom; and some great LIVE STAGE SHOWS, including a stunningly imaginative staging of Finding Nemo in a (cool, covered) theatre in Animal Kingdom.

Meanwhile, for an extra charge: CHARACTER MEALS give you much for your bucks-- for ex., a giant buffet with kids' section, at the Crystal Palace (left) Do a late breakfast and make it lunch. The characters sing, dance, and pose for pix.:

The endless supply of scalding water in the comfort station showers during cold winter nights like this past weekend.

I will say that the Tree House Villas at SSR and the One Bedroom at OKW are a very close second to FW for us.

we have three little boys and i like that i can let them be free to be energetic little boys at FW, instead of being in a hotel where i feel like i have to keep them calm and shushed all the time so we don't bother other guests.

Have to agree with Born 2 Fish. I camp to relax not listen to kids yell 24/7. At least take them to the play ground or pool to blow off steam so they can be relatively quiet back at camp. Now before every one with kids jumps on me. I realize kids will be kids but some folks don't seam to care if their kids are disturbing others.

Here too. DH is pretty constantly stressed out at work, but by the time we're done setting up at the Fort and the first pitcher of margaritas is made...

Along with the explanation Lisa gave I would like to add a personal touch.

I am a people watcher,,you know that guy who sits onna bench and smiles as he watches you go by when your doing something that you hope someone isnt noticing ? Well that guy is me. I love to people watch, and looping is the very best way,, that and sitting on the porch inna rocking chair at Trails End,
Also, the campers come and go daily, its fun to see, meet different folk at the Fort, there fore the sites change daily lots of fun to look at folks different set ups.

and don't forget your red plastic (throw away) cups
and if you forget your fishing poles you can rent them at the Fort,.
