Whats the best DVC to have a staycation

I know resort hopping is a thing. However, is there 1 resort that has all the benefits of just staying there for the day?

I personally like Jambo for a resort stay.
1.) Animal Watching
2.) Grand Lobby
3.) Solid Pool
4.) The Mara is above average quick service IMO
5.) Boma
6.) Jiko
7.) Sanna (at Kidani but a stone throw away)
8.) Awesome Resort merchandise
9.) Very good Bar

Yeah AK is the one that I figured is best. So none of the epcot dvc are worth a spot?

It depends on what you prefer. Storm along bay at BCV is the best pool set up but can be very busy. The lazy River is very relaxing. Some good restaurants without going into Epcot. Topalinos at Riveria is delicious (skyliner ride away if aren’t staying there).

What is your hierarchy of wants on a staycation?

Rivera has the Skyliner to the Boardwalk area. You can also visit other resorts and restaurants via the Skyliner.

Any of the Monorail resorts. You can easily visit the other monorail resorts plus a boat ride to WL and the Fort. Plenty of restaurants and shopping. Visiting the Poly alone is an experience.

My family is now all grown, so SSR with a boat ride or walk to DS is always a hit.

If I want to relax and have a nice pool (and the option of a nice quiet pool), the Wilderness Lodge.

I also like Saratoga as I like being able to walk to Disney Springs to have lunch/dinner.

I wouldn’t want to stay on the boardwalk and not go into the parks. I’d vote for either AKL or WL for the hotels themselves or Saratoga if you think you would spend a lot of time in Disney Springs.

Depending on your priorities and the points you want to use, I would look at BCV for its fantastic pool and proximity to the Boardwalk for food and entertainment.

After the Beach Club, I would rank the staycations as:

2. BRV and CCV for the nice pool, relaxing atmosphere, close proximity to watch fireworks from outside the park, and the food options avail all around the monorail.

3. AKV, nice pool, and love watching the animals.

4. SSR, close proximity to Disney Springs and all the entertainment and food options there.

I mean I bought into BCV because it was the most "resort like" of them all meaning it would make me feel the most like I was on a vacation besides Disney so I guess I could switch my vote to BC as well. Just pure staycation. But I would propose a hybrid where I'd go into WS to eat there as if it was an attached restaurant. But again as a standalone where you do not leave the resort at all then AK makes you feel like you're in a different part of the world which is nice.

I know I'm likely being silly to say this but I've heard Aulani is really nice for those (haven't gone yet but soon). I'll also add that VDH/Disneyland Hotel is awesome if you ever head west.

For WDW - I think @fflmaster really said it well. I'd add Riviera as I like the resort/location and the Skyliner is a fun ride outside of the parks as long the lightning doesn't get in the way.

SSR with a walk to Disney Springs - anytime I can go to Morimoto's for the ribs, I am in.

BLT - my wife and I spent some wonderful time behind the pool on the beach; it was amazing how quiet it was. The bar at Steakhouse 71 makes some killer drinks - great place to watch a game. I know this sounds weird being next to MK but it was really chill.

Disneyland Hotel - My wife has voted that one as a must-do again; way more than VGC.

We have enjoyed lots of resort only days at VGF.

-Amazing spa
-Great restaurant options (nothing beats Narcoosee's for dinner and fireworks viewing)
-Solid pools
-Reasonably priced water craft rentals (this was one of our favourite things to do)
-Walking paths, boats or monorail to several other resorts
-Good shops
