What's the Best Disney Pool?

As our children get older, I see the benefits to SAB expanding but also being a challenge. Both strong swimmers so they can handle the deeper parts, which there are. When they were small they would spend days at the waddling area. The challenge now is who wants to play in the sand, who wants to go on the slide (then it is which slide), who wants to take part in pool side activities - as one can see there are pluses for all ages. We find ourselves spliting up more than we like if there is lack of agreement as to what to participate in. I don't buy into letting the kids go off to play at such a busy place. Maybe I am a helitcopter Mom, but I have experienced watching a family panic when they couldn't immediately find one of their children at the pool. That was horrible to observe.

The pool area at Kidani is PHENOMENAL! Far more than just "a pool"! It's a family fun play area where the pool is only one part. :goodvibes

Have to agree with many others on here, AKV-Kidani is a wonderful pool! We really loved staying at this resort and are planning another stay here this June! We've stayed at all the DVC resorts on-site except OKW, and my girls like all the pools. My oldest daughter LOVES Stormalong Bay at BCV/BC/YC but it definitely has it's downfalls, which have been pointed out. For me, the biggest problem with it is the crowd and the distance from the Villas. Plus it is REALLY hard to keep track of your kids there!

Our favorite pools that you can hop to while staying on points are the Poly pool and dig site pool at Coronado Springs. Just a reminder you can not hop to the AKV pools, or BLT also.

With adults and children who can handle it, I think SAB is the best!

We've done both pools at Animal Kingdom and then SAB as well. The kids favorite part of SAB was the water slide - but it made me nervous that they had to cross over the walkway to Epcot to get there which was really crowded. Of course they are older now so that won't be an issue next trip. SAB can feel a little like you are in a fishbowl with everyone watching as they walk by too. At AK, Jambo pool seemed much bigger and I liked the playground right next door. Kidani pool though had the great play area for the baby.

We are going back in Nov, and have booked using 11 months out for Kidani, but I am going to spend all spring debating whether to try to get in at Beach Club at 7 months. Basically have to weight more points at Beach Club for the pool & central location vs fewer points at Kidani with animals & kiddie pool play area for the 3 yr old. Older kids have agreed either works for them - they are just thrilled to get to go back!

I always loved the Beach Club Villas; however I just stayed at Bay Lake and I think I like their pool better.
