We haven't had a bad experience yet. One of the things that came to mind was once when a Disney bus driver gave us a special "Disney Day" by dropping us off at OKW on his way to DD so we didn't have to come all the way back on another bus. This was when we were going from one resort to the other.

Our favorite place that we stayed was in a grand villa at OKW. We were on Miller's Road, and had an excellent view of a pond and the golf course. Our favorite area, though is Southpoint, because we like the quiet pool there and the proximity to the walkway to DD.

The disney cruise last year. We had always wanted to go but when we put the figures together it always seemed like too much. We bought in Nov. 99 but didn't close til the first of 2000. We were looking at the situation as staying in line with the points we had available. Well with 99's points and 2000's points and with the 7-day special last Sept. we just couldn't say no. We opted for a cat. 6 verandah and then we talked friends into joining us and we ALL feel this was the BEST vacation we ever had. We have added on twice and are thinking about it again. After all, there's another cruise special again and we have 1 measely point left to our name yet to borrow. I can't imagine ever taking another vacation without DVC.

I'd say knowing that we are coming back! Aside from that, it's hard to pinpoint just one experience. Was it one of 2 cruises? Our OKW GV stay? NYE 1999/2000? Or any of our other trips?. I just can't decide....spruce

My special disney cast member interaction took place at Vero Beach. We drove there after five days at WDW. I began to notice I was not feeling to well and because we are on a HMO I had to call my Dr. back in Ma to find out what to do . Well after describing my discomfort they said they would call in a script to a local pharmphy. I called the front deck to find a store that would deliver (DH gets lost in Fl always).
Well by the time we got all the different calls done and I called the pharm. to verify that my script had been called in and that they would deliver their delivery guy had gone home. We went down to the front desk to get drictions to the store. The cast member said that it was pretty complacated to get there, and stated to tell us how to do it when the manager spoke up and said he would go and pick up the script for me . He went and got the script paid for it and brought it to my room I was so thankful, not having to worry about DH getting lost or my having to leave the kids to go with him to help with dirct. All this with a fever of 102. this cast member was AWESOME and I wrote to DVC to let his bossses know how great he was. Can't remeber his name now this was back 4 yrs ago. We have had some other magical things happen because of cast members who go above and beyond but I will always be grateful for this person.

As with most of you, all of our experiences have been great (give or take 1-2 problems with security over towing our car, but that's another story!). But, to me, I can still remember our first visit, March '95, OKW, studio at Turtle Pond Road. We walked to the HH, and while going along Peninsular Rd. and seeing the lighthouse, a feeling just overwhelmed me from deep down in the heart, and I skipped along the path telling DH "I can't believe we did it. This is ours!" Our second visit was in a 2 br, also Turtle Pond, but we brought our boys and 2 of their friends. Their faces at seeing the unit was worth a thousand pictures, and we took almost that many! It's been a wonderful experience so far, and we look forward to many more. Now we bring the grandchildren. Next trip, OKW, studio, 8/01, 5 nights, then to Hilton H for 3 nights !

the best DVC experience is checking out of the resort and not seeing any lodging charges on your credit card bill

This past December, we arrived at OKW to find that the grand villa available for my party was one of the older ones without elevator access, even though I had requested one with access at the 11 month window. The cast member checking us in was being oriented and her guide went to the back and came out and apologized, but that was what was available. I'd already had problems with my elderly mom flying down and this was not what I needed to hear. The guide went back and came out with a manager I guess, his name was Randy, and after re-explaining our situation and seeing my mom in a transport chair, he was able to move us into one of the new grand villas. It wasn't my happiest vacation for several reasons and on Thursday, someone delivered a beautiful fruit basket to our villa, signed "your Old Key West family." I still owe them a letter, but Jean and Chelle, and Randy at OKW, thanks for trying to lighten an otherwise heavy heart

My best experience was my first night at OKW. We had to go to DVC to sign up because they weren't registered in NH yet, so we planned a long Memorial Day weekend. We arranged that we would arrive mid-afternoon, sign the paperwork, and spend the weekend in a studio.

My wife arrived as planned, but I didn't. I was on a business trip, my flight to Orlando was cancelled, and instead of arriving mid-afternoon, I finally got to Orlando around 7pm. All I had been able to do was leave our guide a voice message saying I had no idea when I would arrive. The Mears driver had no clue where or what DVC was and tried to deliver me to the Disney Villas, and I finally got to OKW around 8pm. I was fit to be tied  , and had no idea where we would stay; obviously we weren't going to do the paperwork at 8pm! :(

My wife was waiting at Olivia's for me with good news. After getting my message, our guide had arranged for my wife to do her part of the paperwork and got her checked in, on points, even though we weren't quite members yet :) . The next morning we finished the paperwork in about an hour... and the rest is history. :D

I must admit I had always been a skeptic of cruises. I had the impression it would be like prison except that you could drown. Boy did Disney prove us wrong! Besides being a beautiful spacious ship, and upgrading us to an outside room we loved being able to take a relatively inexpensive vacation- no food bills left us extra $$$ for the spa! I felt very pampered and since I was 5 months preggers at the time, I enjoyed every bit of it!
