We have them booked at the following, trying to decide which to keep and which to cancel ...

Crystal Palace
Ohana
Hollywood and Vine
Cape May

What are the best, and worst Character breakfasts?

Should I look at Chef Mickeys too?

Am I missing a good one?

Which should we skip?

Been to 1900 beforem so not going there.

Thanks!

In my opinion, I think food-wise they're all not so great. That said, I'd definitely do Crystal Palace, but only if you have the first ADR of the day. There is nothing like walking down an empty Main Street in the gleaming sunshine. And the characters there are fun! :goodvibes

I admit that I was expecting to hate Chef Mickey's, but in it's category of breakfast buffets with characters, I thought it was pretty good. It had a large variety, including some interesting items like a veggie-type-quiche-thing, the guy at the griddle was constantly making pancakes and mickey waffles, tehre was plenty of fresh fruit and smoked salmon. We came in for one of the latest breakfast seatings and they were still putting fresh food out. The characters were great and the kids had a blast. I also liked Tusker House at AK (probably my second favorite). It also had some interesting items and great characters.

We've also been to the following character breakfast meals:
1900 PF (my least favorite)
O'hana (DH liked it, I liked that it was family-style, but in terms of variety it really falls behind the buffets)
Crystal Palace (Good, but less variety than CM and TH and the characters are not as fun)
Akershus (my third favorite - princesses, family style, but with additional buffet variety).

We're trying Cape May cafe in a week, since we're staying right there.

We really like Crystal Palace. We also like Chef Mickey's, but mainly for the atmosphere. 1900 was ok. But CP is near the top of our list.

We really enjoy O'hana's, Crystal Palace, and Cape May Cafe character breakfasts. Cape May Cafe is a must do each trip....the food is always hot and fresh, love the character interaction, and love how relaxed the restaurant is. It is one of the more quieter character meals. Crystal Palace is another favorite of ours especially when we have an ADR for before the park opens. DH and I love the make to order omlettes, while both DDs love the Pooh's Puffed Pastries and chocolate Mickey waffles....of course it is also Pooh and Friends and by looking at my name, that is another plus for me :goodvibes. O'hana's is great because it is not a buffet but rather it comes family style (which the food is really good too), and the character interaction is great...we especially love interacting with Lilo (she never disappoints) and of course the Big Cheese :goodvibes. The only one from your list that we haven't tried and have no interest in doing so either is Hollywood and Vine because 1) our kids are 8 and 10 and are not into those characters and 2) we just don't really care for that restaurant anyways. Now as far as Chef Mickey's is concerned....we are in no hurry to go back to that character meal. We have eaten there twice (once for dinner and once for breakfast) and both times we had horrible service and the characters were too rushed for our taste. As for the food, it was just o.k. Hope this helps.

Our favorite is Donald's breakfast at Tusker House, followed by the Mary Poppins breakfast at 1900 Park Fare.

Our favorite character breakfast is Tusker House. It is the one place where I don't mind paying for the photo package, always comes out great. I love the character interaction, they also look awesome all dressed up in their safari gear. And the food is pretty darn good as well. It has most of your usual breakfast items but then some w/ more international tastes.

Cape May would be my second choice only b/c it is a little more difficult to get to the Beach Club in the morning. But the characters there are awesome and all dressed up in their beach gear. Food is delicious as well.

Cape May is our favourite as it's not a mad rush, the character interaction is great, and you can walk into Epcot.

We tent do go there on a late sart day, or a non-disney day (yes we do have those - we have a full shopping day!!!)

Tusker House

1. Fresh Baked Glazed Donuts:worship:
2. Bacon
3. Jungle Juice
4. Fresh Baked Glazed Donuts:worship:

Oh the charecters are great too:)

Our favorites:
1. Crystal Palace (best character interaction)
2. Donalds Safari Breakfast (good variety)

Least favorite: Chef Mickey's We all disliked this restaurant and that was when Mickey actually came to the table.

I have heard nothing good about Hollywood and Vine in any reviews but maybe somebody who has eaten there will chime in.

My favorite is Crystal Palace - I love the atmosphere and the food!

My kids' favorite is Tusker House - they love the atmosphere and the food!

I like Chef Mickey's atmosphere but the food is better at the other two.

I have done Akershaus and won't go back (food was really lacking and it was very expensive; not sure if this one is 2 credits?). Ohana was fun but don't feel the need to do it again (although I do love Lilo). Cinderella's Castle we really enjoyed the food and Princesses but I won't use 2 credits to go back.

Crystal Palace - our #1 favorite, we enjoy the bright/open atmosphere, fun interaction with Pooh & friends, very good buffet featuring puffed french toast!! :worship:

Ohana - another favorite, we enjoy the relaxed Polynesian theming, the food is good and is served family style (no running back & forth to the buffet), characters are alot of fun especially Pluto & Stitch who are an absolute riot!

Hollywood & Vine - never done & never will, no interest in characters there and it seems to get consistently bad reviews

Cape May - the most relaxed character meal at WDW, character interaction is excellent & they spend plenty of time with you, buffet seems a tad limited but is good nonetheless

Unless you really want or need to eat at H&V, I would try to get Chef Mickey's if it's available. It's another favorite of ours - the atmosphere is very upbeat & energetic with occasional monorail passing by overhead, the buffet is good, and you can't beat dining with the Fab 5!

O'hana is our favorite. CP, Cape May and TH are all really good too. Have not been to CM for breakfast, we went for dinner and didn't like it, but I have heard breakfast is decent. We also really like Akershus..not on your list. Would not recommend HV, it consistantly gets bad reviews.

you guys are the best!

ok i think im going to keep ohana, CP and cape may.

couldnt get chef mickeys.

Another vote for Crystal Palace! I think the BEST part is walking down MSUSA with minimal people and the photo op with the castle, then you go and kick off your day with POOH and friends while waited on by some super sweet people! Disney AT it's FINEST! Enjoy :wizard: :goodvibes

For both character interaction and food our choices are 'Ohana and Cape May. They are both fantastic. 'Ohana is the breakfast we always choose for our "Goodbye for now.." meal. One big plus about 'Ohana is the fact that the food is served family style. No having to get up for a buffet. Just sit back, relax and enjoy. Plus one of my favorite things to do while at WDW is to enjoy a cup of coffee while enjoying the view of the castle.

CP is wonderful. Love the walk down main street with hardly any people.

Cape May was more laid back and made for a great last day breakfast. :goodvibes
