What's the best area for my rig?

Hello everyone,

I went to FW in 2003 with my family and at the time I was pulling a 23' Sportmens Coyote Hybrid. We decided we are going back at the end of July for approximately 10 days. I sold my bumper pull and purchased a fifth wheel that is approximately 39' long. I remember how tight it was with the bumper pull to get it in the space we had at the time. Anyone which area I would have an easier time backing. It's gonna be a tight squeeze but it will be worth it. I have talked my mon and dad into going with us. They have never been and think my dad will love it. He is currently 62 but he tells everyone he is still 19 and he acts it too. Thanks for all your input.

We also had a travel trailer, 32 foot, so hubby had an easy time backing it in any loop, but with the slide and awning, sometimes the site was too small! My parent's have a 40 ft motorhome and Mom says the lower numbered loops on the 1700 are the easiest time she has had getting in. (she won't let my dad drive her motorhome :rotfl2: ) We always request one of these sites, but it is not preferred so no cable. It is by the Meadows Trading Post. It will be interesting in June for us as we have a 37 foot 5th wheel on order. Please let them know how many slides you have as well as the awning, like I said, some sites you just can't get all of them out, no matter how you put that rig in there.

We have been to FW with a 36', a 41', and now a 45' motorhome. We have always fit. Sometimes easier than others. Lots of sites will take your 5ver.

Last time there (two weeks ago), we got one of the pull thru's ... 1203. Will never happen again, but it was cool.

I would try for loop 700, 900, or 1200, although there are lots of sites that will work for you. Stay away from 300, 500, 600 and 800 IMHO, they are tight loops for a large rig, although you can fit there too if you have to.

Remember, they have 'the big book' up front, which shows all the site layouts. You can get a good idea what you are in for before driving back there.

Our 5th wheel is only 28ft so I can't help with specific sites but I would recommend calling a few days before your arrival to confirm your info is on your reservation. On our last trip I had to call a couple of days before we left to get info on what papers I needed for our dog and spoke to a very helpful person. I asked him to double check our equipment info on our res. He took our camper info, slides awning etc. and our tow vehicle size and asked what we wanted to be close to and put us in a great site. We were at the marina end of the 700 loop. I think they are good about matching equipment and sites.

Thanks for the responses. I called yesterday even though it is a few months away I just wanted to check to see if they had the right information from what I entered on reservation. They had the information correctly listed. I cannot wait to go. We really enjoy using our camper and with oldest graduating this year from HS there may not be too many more vacations with the parents for awhile. So I am really gonna enjoy this one!!!!
