What's the best Age to go to Disney?

I was initially planning on waiting until our boys were 5-and-a-half, but my research led to me feeling comfortable moving the trip up a year, so they'll be 4-and-a-half. They ought to be tall enough to ride the thrill rides, but if they're not overly keen on them, that won't be a problem. I figure they'll be plenty old enough to enjoy and remember the trip (which is important to us).

We took DD in February - she was almost 2.5 and she had so much fun! She loved the characters and the rides. I was amazed at how well things went. The only ride she didn't like was Winnie-the-Pooh so we skipped Snow White! Of course we also built in a lot of down time - but that ended up being more for the grown ups!

Now she knows most of the movies off by heart and can't wait until our trip in a couple of months. Everything is planned around the character meals and we're hoping she'll hit 40 inches since she is DESPERATE to go on Splash Mountain. It's actually motivating her to eat her veggies and get more sleep. :D

Our DS was only 10 months old and our DD was 3 1/2 when we went on our first DW trip back in March this year and they did great. Our DS sat in the stroller most of the time except for a few rides. I am sure our DD enjoyed a lot more than he did. But I believe our DS will enjoy a lot more this upcoming trip.
