What's the Beer Situation?

First visit to Universal next month on our way to Disney - so what's the beer situation? I'm used to drinking around the countries in Epcot...so I gather I might be a little disappointed? Not a fan at all of bud, miller, coors, etc, etc, but prefer good craft beer. However, am able to slum it when required. Any info is appreciated! (FYI - staying at Royal Pacific if there's anything I need to know about the selection there, too...) Cheers!

Are you familiar with Landshark Lager? It's similar to Corona and available at Margaritaville. To kick it up a notch, they have the Loaded Landshark, a Landshark with a shot of tequila added.

At Finnegan's inside US, they have a beer sampler (5 Irish beers in shot glasses).

Just what I was looking for - thanks!

the guy that created that thread is active here.

he updates the front page once he posts about it.
that way, you receive current information all the time.

you might want to start at the end of that thread and work backwards.

he enjoys for everyone to add their pictures to the thread and make any comments regarding the alcoholic beverages.

We had an excellent dinner at Finnegans a couple weeks ago while visiting my DD who lives in Orlando. She had the beer flight and said it was great.

Here's a shot of it with my "Shark Attack" girly drink. :thumbsup2

Sorry, DD covered up the beer names on the placemat, but I know she enjoyed them.

I saw on one the links this list of ontap beers for the Hogshead Pub:
Hog's Head Brew, Strongbow, Bass, Guinness, Boddingtons, Newcastle, London Pride, Stella Artois, Bud Light, Budweiser
Can anyone comment on Hog's Head Brew, Strongbow or London Pride?

DH very occasionally has a London Pride.....it`s quite bitter. I`m not a real ale drinker.......only like American beers like Bud, which a lot of folk here call lager.

Strongbow is a cider over here, quite sweet but with ice it can be refreshing.

Never tried Hogs head brew.

Beer drinker here, not Bud style beers either.

RPR Orchid Lounge and Jake's had real nice local beers on tap, but I forget what they were called. The pale ale was intense!

The beers in Hogsmeade (the bar at HP area) are excellent. Boddington's on draught, as well as a unique brew only found at HP area. There's a good beer stop in the Jurassic park area, too. About a half dozen on draught, most of them pretty strong if I recall.

We love sitting at the bar at Finnegan's in Universal and Confisco's at IOA. Yuengling & Heineken are on draught at Confisco's and there's just a ton at Finnegan's. They just got rid of Harp, but replaced it with something decent. They also have Smittywicks (spelling?). Hubby drank a good bit of that our last trip.

The beer drinking is just as nice at Universla/IOA and its resorts as Epcot, IMO.

Cheers!
