What's so special about PKI's The Beast?

I rode The Beast at PKI and I wasn't too impressed. It had two neat drops and was fast, but it didn't do much for me. It had long stretches where it went really fast and I was waiting for it to do something. Very few hills and not too many exciting roller coaster manuvers. It had some nice scenery, but The Beast isn't the best to me. It doesn't beat my favorite woodie -- Lightning Racer at Hersheypark.

For those who adore The Beast, why do you like it so much? Help me understand why it's so highly rated.

i remember riding that one a few years back...for me, i was still new to the world of coasters and so i loved it! but we didn't get to ride it this past weekend...

we did, obviously, ride son of Beast though...that one chewed me up and spit me back out again!! i thought i was literally going to die on that thing!!! what did you think???

I think that the major attraction of PKI Beast is that you get the effect of going around twice due to the two large lift hills. If I remember correctly, it's a very long ride.

Because it is tamer than other coasters, and it is fun in the dark, and longer.

I love the Beast! We were just at KI 2 weeks ago. I love it because it is a wooden coaster, it's very long and when you ride it you don't even feel like you are in an amusement park because of how it goes out in the trees.

I'm not a big fan of faster, taller, scarier so The Beast is perfect for me!

The Son of Beast is great!!!
And i think The Beast is an excellant wooden coaster!!! Their may be some news ones that have different elements to them that make them better but for its age it is a great ride. The ride is long which is great, has some good pops or air, several decent drops and tunnels. And to get the best experience is too ride it at night, when you it is dark!!!! Especially if you have a chance during a coaster enthusaist even where they turn off all lights and you are in total darkness and cant see the track ahead of you. Also the terrain helps make the ride very compelling!!!

I too love Lightning Racer... haven't been to the Beast/Son of Beast yet...


I love big woodies though... (is ok, smooth, but I love old woodies.. the wilder the better. ..

(And get your minds out of the gutter... I am talking about coasters!)

I love it because it is such a long coaster and that it is wooden. I just love the feel while riding it and you get some excellent views of everything from it. Not as much for the thrills as much as it is because it is just about the longest coaster I have ever been on that I can recall.
