What's open between 6&7pm before MNSSHP?

when we were there last year for the MVMCP, (I am assuming same basic rules wil go for MNSSHP)- we ate at cosmic ray's. as we were leaving, they already had a CM stationed outside the entrance to cosmic ray's and she wasn't letting anyone in there that didn't have a bracelet on for the party.

Nobody knows. Nothing is officially open, and what is unoffically open seems to change from year to year. The only thing you can really do is wait until the trip reports are posted here on the night of the first party.

Are any rides, shops, or restaurants open in the "land" where partygoers are held before the party officially starts? Or is everyone just standing around in anticipation?

I went to MNSSHP last year and I was to understand based on what people told me that MK closed at 5pm and was to re-open at 7pm for the party, so as far as I know, nothing is open. Thats why we made ressies at CG and are doing the same thing this year. That way we can hop on the monrail and head on over when the party starts!

Last year they left Adventureland/Frontierland open and all the rides, shops and Pecos Bills were left open (from 6:00p to 7:00p) for party guests with wristbands.

Before that though it was always Tomorrowland and Cosmic Rays that were left open for that hour.

We'll know by Sept 15 what they're going to do this year.

Last year we arrived around 4:30 for MNSSHP. We went right to Fantasyland and rode a few rides and ended up at the last showing(during regular park hours) of Mickey's Philharmagic. When it was over(after 6pm), we were escorted to Liberty Square and Frontierland. Pecos Bills was open, and Columbia Harbour House was closed for the entire night.

that's really the best advice. We found that out the hard way last year, LOL. In 2004, the party people were sent to Tomorrowland (I "think" that was also the case in 2003, I'm trying to remember....) When we arrived at the MK, we had our primary meeting place set for the Indy Cars right at 6:00, thinking that was where the guests would be sent. Oops. Turns out everyone was sent to Frontierland instead. So, you just never know!

I preferred the set up last year in Frontierland to Tomorrowland. It seemed much less crowded that way.

Officially, the only places open during the gap are Tony's Town Square and the Liberty Tree Tavern. If you want to eat, but don't have a reservation yet, get one!

Otherwise, they seem to like putting people in Liberty Square.

I have a lozenge for you mousermerf! :earboy2: :teeth:

When we went last year, we got in at 4, and had reservations to eat at Cinderella's Royal Table at 4:30. After we left, we were sent over to the Frontierland area--people in our party got to ride Big Thunder Mountain RR and Splash Mountain, plus we got a head start on trick or treating as there were some places already handing out candy.

Merf, are you suggesting there might be a change in MNSSHP protocol this year?

I think he's saying that Tony's and LTT will be open for that hour...

I had no idea the choices were so few. I have reservations at 5:05 at CP, didn't know it will be closing shop at 6. If MK is open until 6, I really rather be dining 6-7 instead of 5-6 since its our only MK experience for the year. Seems like I'm missing an hour of park time and after dinner will have an hour of idle time.

LTT and Tony's are the only TS restaurants open DURING the party (taking ADRs till about 9:00p) but CP, CRT and The Plaza will take ADRs up until 6:00p so you have nothing to worry about. They will not kick you out!

With your 5:05p ADR you'll probably be done by 6:30p and then you can explore and see what land is open. Or you can call back and try for 5:30p ADR.

Good luck!

We've got a 5:35pm ADR for Tony's Town Square on the 23rd of Oct, and Liberty Tree was already booked up. Dunno about other choices, but I don't think Crystal Palace or CRT are open at all for MNSSHP. At least, that's what the 2005 guide map says.

I just thought with the coughs and all he might know more than that... that's all, LOL

I read Merf's posts on another board, he's always got great advice! :)
