I loved those mermaids.

One of them looked like Amanda Seyfried and I was "Why is she in Pirates of the Caribbean?" Then she started singing and I knew it wasn't her, since the mermaid was an alto or lower.

Same here, they were awesome. I just changed my set on my other Disney site to the first mermaid to come out, Tamara. She needed more screentime!

It's left open ended-- there's a rumor that a mermaid's kiss can heal and protect from drowning... buuut there's another one that it's all a ruse and when they drag you down they're going to kill and eat you. Depends on how cynical you are, lol

I think she was going to turn him into a mermaid or something. It was kinda strange, but she definitely was trying to heal him in some way.

Yeah they didn't give us any explanation about it. I still enjoyed the subplot of Phillip/Syrenna. Something different When she had legs I thought they forgot to animate her fins but I realized that she turned human.

I liked Angelica a LOT more than I thought I would-- I was seriously expecting a bland love interest who existed just so they could say Jack HAD one, which is totally unnecessary. And then she wasn't, and it was much better done than I thought it would be :]

I had a similar feeling. I thought Angelica was going to be a replacement for Elizabeth Swann (who unlike most, I liked. I wasn't a huge fan of Will), but she was a lot more than that. I mean she had her own character and really matched up to Depp's Sparrow.

It did seem that way, but it just added a new element and made them a lot more interesting.
