It's one of my paragraphs for my Disney World research paper that i'm typing in class right now--i'm in the computer lab and I have nothing better to do so I figured I would hop on the dis for a little while.
April brings Grad nights and Easter. Grad nights are an exclusive event for high school seniors. “On magical spring nights each year, the Magic Kingdom hosts the biggest and best graduation tradition – an once-in-a-lifetime celebration full of top-name musical performers, thrilling theme park attractions, Disney characters, high-energy dance floors, and special times with longtime friends.”(Grad Nights, 2003) Some of the happenings include celebrity guests, live stage performances by well-known bands, the red carpet treatment, DJ and dance parties, fireworks, free-play arcade, interactive video games, sports zone, and unlimited attraction rides. Easter is a very big holiday for Disney World. There are special meals, religious services, and many activities, including Mr. and Mrs. Bunny meet and greet, Main Street poodle society ladies, Mobile azalea trail maids, dream come true parade, Move it, shake it, celebrate it street party, and spectromagic all at the Magic Kingdom. At Epcot there is an egg hunt and an egg relay. At Animal Kingdom there is a special storytelling with Pocahontas and character greetings. Lastly, are the candy scrambles, they are held at 11 different resorts and range in difficulty. May hosts Star Wars weekends. It is generally held at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and is typically four weekends long. The daily parade features many different star wars actors and actresses from the movies. One of the main attractions is the Jedi training academy. Sixteen or more kids are picked from the audience as Jedi trainees to have a lesson taught to them by the Jedi master and the kids are provided robes and lightsabers. Kids battle Darth Vader, Darth Maul, and stormtroopers until they retreat back behind the stage. Diplomas are handed out to every child for their participation. In addition, there are also many character appearances. The main characters that participate are Jedi Mickey, Leia Minnie, Stormtrooper Donald, and Vader Goofy. Still, there are many real characters from the movies that appear such as Chewbacca, General Grievous, Bobba Fett, Darth Vader, Jango Fett, Darth Maul, Wicket the Ewok, and Obi-Wan-Kenobi. In July, is the Fourth of July celebration. At the Magic Kingdom there is a “Concert in the sky”, where there are fireworks timed to classic patriotic music. Disney’s celebrate America, also at the Magic Kingdom, is a grand tribute to the United States, its people, and traditions. At Epcot, there is a holiday-inspired finale added to the nightly fireworks, Illuminations. The American pavilion at Epcot will also have enhanced entertainment throughout the day, with visits from historic characters who will share stories. American Adventure will also have extended performances from their signature music group, Voices of Liberty. Hollywood Studios has a special fireworks show and an extra showing of Fantasmic! September brings Halloween, the Night of Joy, and the Expedition Everest challenge. Starting in late August, the Halloween decorations start getting put up in preparation of Mickey’s not so scary Halloween party. The main advantage of going for Halloween is that it is the only time that guests over nine years old can dress up! The Magic Kingdom is transformed
