What's on Emerald Aisle in TPA(Tampa)?

I just made my ressie for an intermediate car at the Tampa airport. With the intermediate, you can pick any car on the Emerald Aisle and I'm wondering what people may have gotten. I know I can't get anything less than an intermediate, but could get an SUV or full-size if any are available.

It's a funny thing that with the new Emerald Reserve at TPA, for all classes of cars EXCEPT intermediate, you go to the aisle for the size you paid for, but with intermediate, you still go to the Emerald Aisle which might have different choices.

That is the way EA works, it is only for intermediate reservations, all others do Emerald Reserve. That is of course, you reserved throught the Emerald Club, if not, then you go to the intermediate aisle.

We rented a car off the EA in Tampa in December. We got a Dodge Intrepid which would be considered a full size. There were a lot of cars to pick from but I didn't see anything other than intermediates or full size. We have also rented from EA at MCO and got an SUV. There seem to be more choices on the EA at MCO.

We rented from TPA EA and arrived at 8:00 AM. Quickly picked up our luggage and got the shuttle to the EA.

The EA was packed full of cars. About 5 minivans, 2 full size vans, 8 SUV's or so, about 4 premium cars and many full-size cars. They had to be over 40 cars in the EA. I don't know if it is always like that or just because our arrival was so early. My son picked a Mitsubshi SUV.

Hi, We are flying in from CT to TPA and I'm not having much luck in finding a reasonable rate for a rental car. Can you tell me about National's EA? Are these better rates, or just more convenient? Do you use a code?
We have two kids, stroller, lots of luggage, so we'll need at least an intermediate if not larger. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!

saintphly- I ended up changing my reservation to Dollar as they are on-site at TPA. I do not want to have to deal with shuttling off-site, even though one poster said it was not a problem.

I just re-checked my ressie today for 2/7-2/11/04 and found the rate for an intermediate dropped to $16.49 a day. I'm paying about $90 for the 4 days. This is without using ANY codes. I imagine that car rental prices are higher the later in February you go, due to being peak vacation season.

I use rentalcodes.com to check for discount codes for the major car rental companies. Just so you know, the on-site car rentals at TPA are Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz & Enterprise.

Just keep trying the different codes(and always check using NONE)to see what gives the best rate. And don't forget to re-check right up to the time you leave!
