How do you transfer points, and is it once per use year or once ever? Is there a minimum transfer? Thank you any help in this matter would be wonderful :)

You can transfer once per UY. And there is no minimum, but since it's allowed only once per UY many members only want to do it for a fair amount of points. BTW, you could transfer points from two different UYs at the same time, but it uses up the transfers for both of those UYs.

You call MS to transfer the points. MS will need the members name, and city, state/providence (and possibly their member number, but the other member could provide MS with that information if you did a three way call).

Here's the information from the Home Resort Rules and Regulations.

During a given Use Year, only one (1) Transfer per Club Member or Club membership, either as Transferee or Transferor, will be permitted.

Thank you very much I dont want to get into the habit of doing this, I just need 4 points lol and didnt want to pay the $15 per point :) do we have to pay a fee to do this?

No fee for a transfer -- other than the cost of renting the points from the other member, which will be a private transaction between the two of you that won't involve Member Services. Your challenge is going to be finding someone willing to give up their one transfer to send you only 4 points. Considering that the going rate for rented points is $10 - $12 per point, I'd say the frustration factor of finding someone to rent from and then coordinating the transfer and payment would be worth paying the extra $20 it would cost you to buy the One Time Use Vacation Points directly from Member Services.

I am curious: how do you handle the payment and the transfer?
The seller trusts the buyer and transfers the points and then receives the payment? Or the other way around?
Or there is something similar to an escrow service that can be used?

Each owner decides how they want to do it. I got a transfer of points last year and I ended up paying for the entire amount of points prior to the transfer.

However, I did a three way call with MS and the owner to verify the points were there and then called back as soon as it was done. Luckily for me, the points were the same UY and home resort as I own so they showed up online which was really nice.

In DVC points renting there is always a lot of trust involved. I thought that transfering points could be more risk free.
I knew that paypal offers such a service with ebay transactions of a high value, I though something similar could exists, but it would not be certanly free of charge.
