We are sailing on our very first cruise (Wonder) next April. I just can't wait, so I thought I'd throw this out to all that has experienced your first time seeing it. So tell me, whats it like? :D

We could see the ship from a distance away and as we got closer and closer it's was breathtaking to see how large the ship was. My first thought was - I can't believe we're cruising on THAT ship! It just gets better and better from there. The port is something to see.....and as you walk into the atrium for the first time - WOW!! Everything we saw was another pleasant surprise.... Sure we saw the DCL video ahead of time but it is a whole lot better to experience it for yourself.

No matter how prepared you think you are, trust me........you're not! There is nothing like the view when you are driving up to the port and see The Wonder or The Magic for the first time!! And believe it or not, it just keeps on getting better!
You are going to have an amazing time!

Enjoy!

Seeing the cruise ships lined up for the first time is FANTASTIC! Especially as the MAGIC/WONDER are the prettiest ships! Nat:Pinkbounc

The cool thing about your first view of the ship is that you will see after you come over a bridge on the way to the port. Look to your left, and there she will be.:boat:

And that is just the outside...the first time I cruised I was very nervous. But once I walked inside, wow! And...we getting ready for cruise number 6!

Happy cruising!:sunny:

It is an unbelievable sight when you see the Wonder for the first time. Our first and second cruise was on the Disney Wonder 4 night cruises. On our first cruise,I was really nervous.I had tears shed as we got onboard. and they called our name. The Disney Wonder is great. We are going for the first time on the Disney Magic in December.I am sure this won't be the only cruise you go as you will love it I am sure.

Truly awe-inspiring...nothing compares to seeing that big, beautiful ship for the first time....

According to the bus drivers, when you first see the ship, you are still 7 miles away from her.

Incredible for sure...your heart will racing and you won't be able to wipe the smile off your face!

We can't wait to head to the port on cruise morning..so we have breakfast at grills..lol. You get a nice view of the ship and a wonderful breakfast!

The only thing better than seeing the ship is seeing the Magic and the Wonder together as we did on Sept.22,2001.

Scott

We also got to See the magic in Quarintine As we sailed
on the wonder both at the port.. Peter

All of the months of anticipation and hours of planning....I usually get very teary-eyed!

It was even more emotional when my Mom stepped on the Wonder for the first time....she never in her wildest dreams thought she would not only get on an airplane, but actually get on a cruise ship. She was overwhelmed! I'm so glad I got to experience that with her!

What's it like?

You know the feeling.

You are six years old.

It's Christmas morning.

You run down stairs to see if Santa left you what you wanted.

As you turn the corner, you can't believe your eyes.

Not only did you get what you wanted, it is so much better than you even imagined.....

We call that feeling......Magic.

Jim

"Oh my goodness, there it is! It's so big and beautiful." Quote from my friend as we drove over the bridge last March. We drove from WDW just for the day to see the Wonder in port and check out the area before our cruise that leaves 3 weeks from today!!!!!
:bounce: :Pinkbounc :yo-yo: :cool1: :jumping1:

Very impressive! We had zero idea what to expect the lay of the land would be like at the port before we actually crested the hill and saw the ship in fullview by herself. There isn't another ship you will see in any port that has the exterior beauty and eye-catching ability of the Disney ships. OMT, repeat cruises and first glances are just as awe inspiring. Enjoy!

Rather surprising, actually, when I saw it as I drove into work one morning....

Turns out the ships come up here for dry dock every few years. (So cool to see it, and to hear the whistle in my office!!)

Can't wait to see - and board - her "for real"!!!!!:Pinkbounc :hyper: :Pinkbounc

(and I can't call it POR either! It's Dixie Landings for me in just 8 more weeks!):hyper:

Perfect, Jim, as always!

We had some very close friends cruising on NCL in December the same week we were on the Magic. They ended up in Cozumel and Grand Cayman the same days we did. When we all got home and had a chance to get together in January, they commented again and again on what a beautiful ship the Magic is, and how exciting it was for them (on another cruise line) to see it in port. Many of their fellow cruisers enjoyed seeing the Magic, and hearing that WONDERFUL ship's horn blow when it was time to depart!!
