Just about to book a 4 day/3 night trip to DLRP at the end of January - staying Weds, Thurs and Fri night at the Newport Bay Club.

Can anybody who has been in January tell me what it is like crowd wise and if most attractions are open - also do they still have the parade and if so approximately what time? Are there any other shows on such as the Lion King, Winnie the Pooh show?

Just came back and crowds were unbelievable and just wondered if we woudl get more done in January?

Are you able to get near to Characters and are there many out and about?

Thanks xx

The crowds are much quieter than in the summer.

The OUAD parade still takes place (it's at about 4ish), but there's not Fantillusions or Fireworks after the 6th.

The Lion King show still happens, but Tarzan is replaced by Mickey's Winter Wonderland, which is also a nice show to watch.

The attractions are a little hit and miss; most things are open at any one time, but almost all attractions go down at some point for a couple of weeks outside the summer, so it's worth checking to see what's available if you're after something in particular.

Not much to add to UKStitch's comments. But often the more outdoor style rides will be closed - Autopia/Storybookland. the Park is freezing and the hot chocolate seems essential :goodvibes

Be sure to wrap up warm and use the internal walkways.

However, if it is cold and dry, you can get some beautiful shots, especially of frozen waterfalls or maybe even Snow!

as for the crowds, traditionally they are smaller and as a result the park has been known to close as early as 6pm.

But you tend to have better character interactions and most attractions are short waits.

HISTA and PotC are good bets for warming up and being entertained.

we have just booked for the 19th jan last nyt sooo excited only bin bk 8 days lol :) ive bin bitten by the disney planning bug x x x

Hi there!

Wow you are so going to enjoy January, its quiet and you don't have to queue too long for any ride:thumbsup2 In saying that the amount of people who are going in January these days I think that might not be so true now:rotfl:
Weather wise its absolutely freezing so take plenty of winter gear!
Yip parade still on although Lion King wise word on the street is they are doing away with that but hopefully not though because its the only thing that warmed me up!
There is usually HEAPS of characters out and about and again you used to be able to get to them no bother but January is becoming very popular so fingers crossed:)

Hope you have a nice time we are going at the end of January too so if ya need any ski gear let me know!!;) :rotfl:
