We arrive Jan. 2 day for 5 days. It's a kind of extra trip this year to get a little more out of our APs, so we aren't going to be desperate to get a whole lot done - we just want to relax with the kids in our favorite spot in the world before they go back to college!::MickeyMo

Will even just relaxing be impossible is it such a zoo that we'll regret going?:earseek:

We were there last January on the 5th and 6th. The only place it seemed really crowded was at the Magic Kingdom. It really surprised us because we were expecting people to be heading back to school by then. It was pretty cold as well.

We arrive every year on Jan 1st or 2nd for about 4 or 5 days and have always been able to do most everything we wanted to do. MK is crowded most the time, but with careful planning and Fastpass, you will still have a great time! The weather can be iffy though, downright cold at night. Haven't worn shorts on any of our New Years trips over 3 years, just too cold! We're giving it another try this year, arriving on the 1st and leaving on the 5th. We also have AP's and couldn't resist the $49 rate at Allstar and the Disney atmosphere. It's always our cure for the "after Christmas blues"!

Have a good trip.

It used to be agreat time to go. Now a lot of the Southern states schools have off that week. My kids don't go back until Jan. 7th! They have 17 days off. I wish they would just give the kids a week off at another time of year instead of making Christmas break longer.

I agree, they build all these teacher workdays in around the Christmas break, sometimes before, sometimes after. It makes for too long a break, especially if you are staying home and are in cold Atlanta!!! We are in private school and get out on the 19th and go back on the 5th, exactly two weeks. But there are public systems around us that have off until the 6th or 7th.

Yuck! I didn't know that alot of schools were starting so late. Oh well, it still seems that MOST schools start back pretty soon after New Years. Hopefully the crowds will not be too bad right after New Years!

The reason we went on 01/06 was because the kids in our county went back to school to 01/06. It was still packed! This year our kids go back on January 5.

Thanks for the information, everyone.

We've done Spring Break many times :crowded: -- I guess if it isn't worse than that I won't worry about it!
