We are planning to do an Owner's Locker with our next trip in January. I have been making lists of what I want to keep in it, but I have changed that list a million times already. What do some of you put in yours?

Here's what I have so far:
Wi-Fi router
Pair of walking shoes for each
Nightgown
Socks and underwear for each
Sandals for each
Full size shampoo and conditioner
Laundry soap
Lysol
Umbrellas
Water bottles
Belly bags
DVC tote
Rain ponchos
Pal Mickey
Spices, salt, pepper
Plastic wrap and foil
Oatmeal
Sugar
Tea and coffee
Water filter
Pillow
Fitted sheet
Tooth brushes (electric) and toothpaste
Jackets
Sweatshirts
Extra phone chargers?
Annual passes
Sunglasses
Jackknife
Baseball cap
Visor

Great thread...we will be using ours for the first time in Nov. I keep thinking I need to make a list too. Maybe the responses on here will help me get that started.

Now does that mean....you don't pack your undies/socks in your suitcases??

Love...Love..Love my locker....I always say I'm going to write down whats in it but I don't and there is always a surprise when I open it...list are some of what I can remember:
First aid kit
Luggage scale
Candles
Playing cards
Scissors
Wine glasses (and sometimes stuff to fill them)
Raincoats
Sunglasses
Toiletries - full size shampoo, lotions etc.
Music cds for DVD player
Disney flip flops
Laundry detergent and dryer sheets
Pop up hamper
Coffee

That's the idea. I'd have "extras" that I'd keep in there so I didn't have to pack them. I figure about 5 days worth of each would do it since we always wash while on vacation.

At the risk of TMI -- I just copied my inventory list from OL:

I have a group called "need" - things I want to possibly take next time, and I just add it to the inventory list as I think of it, so I won't forget. I tried to make my list pretty detailed including brand names and things. I took a photo of everything as we put it in, and when we got home I reviewed the photos to create my inventory on the OL site.

I'm often there in the winter, so I leave a turtleneck and a Mickey fleece (packed in a compression bag).

I also have:
a placemat
a neckroll pillow
my Halloween and Christmas garlands and window clings
pepper
coffee filters and scoop
first-aid items
measuring cups
sewing kit
many toiletries
comb, brush
safety pins
flip flops

I filled my locker in May, and last week really used it for the first time. I love it! I was actually able to take one small suitcase on the plane, and that's it.

Here is a list of ours:

Toothbrushes
Toothpaste
Deoderants
Shaving Cream

subscribing--I leave on Halloween and want to get a list together of things to put in my OL--thanks everyone! this is a great start!

OOOOO, thanks for the idea of first aid items! Definitely need those band aids etc!

and decided to start buying stuff every couple of weeks for my Nov. trip for my Owner's locker. I bought

Tylenol
Advil
Benadryl
Clariton
Shampoo
Conditioner
Soft soap bottles

So I figure by the time we go in Nov... I will have a good start. I might send it ahead since the airlines are so stingy with luggage rules now.

Glad I found this thread! I am thinking of signing up and sharing it with my BF (also a WDW-addict) and I'm trying to come up with a list of items that can live in it full-time to help convince DH we should get one. We have one DS now, one on the way, and my BF is *possibly* PG right now (will know soon).

On my potentail list (that I haven't seen here) are:
- coffee mugs (REAL ones, not shot glasses with handles)
- O2Cool Carabineer Fans
- Stroller Fan
- Chip clips
- Pal Mickey (maybe)
- Ponchos
- Bath toys

Now I'm concerned about leaving things in there with expiration dates. Most meds expire in several years so I can see buying new ibuprofen, antacids, and such and leaving them there. But what about sunscreen? That stuff only seems to be good for one year! And what about a filtered water pitcher? I like the idea since we usually buy a big thing of filtered/spring water - but what do you do in between visits? Just air out the filter and reuse it next time - or chuck it and get a fresh one each time?

http://www.ownerslocker.com

It is a pay-for-membership service where you get this big purple "locker" to keep stuff in that lives in Orlando. You pack it, they pick it up and store it in a climate-controlled warehouse until you return. You let them know when you're coming back and they will drop it off at your resort.

What's Owner's Locker? Here's a link to the information here on THIS site about it. They are a site sponsor: http://www.disboards.com/announcement.php?f=28&a=222

Have you looked at the discussion boards on the Owner's Locker site? They have a whole section dedicated to "What's in your locker?" - lists to help people think of what to put in theirs. I think it's called "Locker Packing Lists."

We used our locker for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it is totally going to change the way we travel to WDW.

This is our inventory (genericized for publication here):

I looked at Owner's Locker.

A $75 membership fee (plus tax) on top of $99 per year, just seems expensive to me. Not to mention the Premium plan that costs $179 per year.

I was calculating the price of the items that I'd put in storage, and it adds up to close to the price of the storage, if not a little less.

Buy items when you get there - $100
Owners locker - $75 Membership Fee + $99 per year + you still have to buy the product that your putting in the locker $100 = $274

$274 vs. $100, I'll take the $100 every time.

Sorry, not trying to be negative, I just can't see the value in this. :confused3

I won't answer for everyone, but here are some reasons it's valuable for us personally:

  1. We never rent a car. We've been using DME lately. We have no way to buy those items upon arrival.
  2. We like to travel with carry on luggage only - with the limitations on liquids in carry-ons, some of these items would be impossible.
  3. Most of the items in our locker aren't things we'd go buy at Publix. My husband's razor. Our guest of honor pins. A pretty good sized fan we use to sleep. Stuff like that.
  4. We can keep some of our personal items where we use them - at WDW - instead of storing them at home. DVC is our "second home," so it should feel like it (with pictures of our canine and feline kids in a frame, a big bottle of my favorite scented lotion, the tea bags I like to use to make iced tea, etc.)
  5. We can take the locker on DCL - making it a whole lot easier to pack for a cruise.
  6. If it's a wash (i.e., spend $99 per year vs. buy $100 of stuff every time you go to Orlando) I'll choose the convenience any day.
