What's in a name? SW Ticket question

My mother, who lives in FL, told me that the news recently reported that Southwest was requiring anyone checking in to have their ID EXACTLY match the name that's on the reservation. That is, if your license has a "Jr.", like my DH's does, then the reservation must be listed that way also.
Now, I know I made our SW reservations under Last, First for both of us, no middle initials for either of us and no "Jr." for him. Can this really present a problem for us at the airport? Should I ignore the (frequently) hysterical FL news reporters or should I call SW and make the change?

As of May 15, 2009, the airlines are supposed to have tickets match IDs. For those who booked prior to that date, it shouldn't be an issue. I have several flights booked that will not have my ID absolutely match my boarding pass. I am not concerned at all. If you are nervous about it, call the airline and have the names changed to match the IDs that will be used.

Thanks - I booked the flights in April but I think I'll call SW and get it fixed anyway. I'd rather be on hold for a little while at home than face a longer wait to check my bags in at the airport.
