What healthy snack ideas do you bring into the park? Looking for diabetic friendly ideas as I am newly diagnosed type 2.

Thanks!

I, too, have to be careful of sugar. I carry:
Nuts (cashews, almonds, sunflower seeds, etc.), pepperoni stick, cheese stick, peanutbutter and celery (or pretzel sticks), beef jerky, snap pea crisps.

Hope that helps! For a treat, the candy store by Winnie the Pooh has some great sugar free options, and in DCA Clarabelles has a no sugar added butter pecan Ice cream.

I don't carry food into the parks but I am not a big snacker. But if I would think nut packs and jerky would be good options for you.

I'm also type 2. I bring nuts and jerky. In the parks I buy fruit and veggies (pickles) fir snacks!

Kind bars! High protein, low sugar.

Also, at WDW I discovered that the sheer amount of walking I was doing meant my sugars were low. Be sure to test regularly so that you don't plunge.

I bring veggies (carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes) in a baggie for each of us to eat in line somewhere.
An apple.
Nuts or a nut based granola bar.

We also make PB&Js, which could be Type 2 friendly if you use healthy high-fiber bread and healthier peanut butter & jellies.

The little nut packets (almonds, mixed nuts, etc.) that they sell at Trader Joe's. They are just the perfect size. Also Kind bars.

ThinkThin bars aren't the best tasting (don't taste like a candy bar), but they aren't bad and have very low sugar and protein. I use those a lot.

No one in our group has any special dietary needs.. but definitely agree on the nuts! We ALWAYS bring nuts to snack on.. favorites being almonds, walnuts, cashews, and sunflower seeds! So good. Apples are also handy and don't need any prep to eat! Also love to bring in some cherries as they help aid with muscle soreness which comes in handy when you spend the majority of the time on your feet and walking EVERYWHERE!

We bring water...

The following nuts are great with macadamias arguably being healthier...

almonds, macadamias, pistachios, walnuts

You could also bring almond butter.

almonds.... you can buy single serve packs to carry.

We used to bring nuts but now we don't even bring that because snacking just isn't good for our diet even if the food is healthy. We've learned that it wont kill us to be a bit hungry for a little while until our next meal.
