Okay, so on my last trip I decided I would try splash moutain. I am kind of a chicken. In all my bad dreams about it, it is always the same......That the logs go down the big plunge too close together (like one goes down and the next one before the first one is all the way cleared!) So on my first ride guess what happens? The ride stops right before the chain pulls us up the big drop. Then several people behind us bump into us and we are all stuck waiting to go up the big drop. I'm starting to panick wondering if we will all get sent up at the same time (I told you I am a wimp!) Then I see someone moving to my right! Some guy is sitting there in the dark! Is he my hero? Is he there to make sure the logs are spaced out enough? Who is this mystery man?
I'm actually starting to wonder how many other CM's are actually inside the rides we are on. I have to say that Jack Sparrow looked so freakin real in Pirates! I had to watch him for awhile to make sure he wasn't real!

What happened next? Did the CM come to your rescue? Did the logs all jam up? Did your nightmare come true!?

Or, will these, and so many other questions, be answered on the next episode of "Splash Mountain Fear"?

Sorry...just adding a little drama as we await the conclusion to the story. ;)

Were you killed and then rejuvinated as an anima, anmala, Robot?

If so, can you get us a fastpass?:rotfl2:

hahaha... you know, it IS haloween time :P

there can be several reasons...

Did you have your eyes opened for the picture? I can never keep my eyes opened, I want to but I can't!

everytime that i go i always look behind me to talk to my family about what we are going to do in the drop. i am always in the front or second seat. well anyways the guy is always there. i think it is if someone chickens out to bad and to space the logs.. there is to many secuirty cameras and everything. they are watching the rides like hawks that the logs would not go down to close together.

One late night my husband and I went on splash Mountain and we were the only ones on the whole ride I think mostly because it was cold anywho.... I remember seeing a man or what I thought was a man sitting in the dark in a corner I just happened to look over in that corner because our boat was stopped and waved thinking that maybe it was my imagination and the guy sitting in the corner turned on a flash light and placed it under his chin and make a scary face and I screamed so loud:scared1: when I saw him! of course my husband and him were laughing:rotfl: because I was being such a chicken. I think he is there just to make sure things go smoothly as you go up the hill who knows? I just had to laugh when I read the post because I thought of the time I saw the him and almost tinkled on myself!:rotfl: :lmao: Maybe on my next trip I'll tell my family who's never been to Disnelyand that it's rumored that splash is haunted since it's next to the haunted mansion:rolleyes1 :lmao:

OMG, both you and LOVEDISNEYLAND have me laughing so hard! With the week I've had, I really needed a good laugh too!

I'm a super big chicken, and have NEVER been on Splash. How about that? LOL Sad because I would just LOVE the ride, just not that big drop. I wish that man was in the corner to help me out if I chickened out!

OK, now I'll never want to go on Splash Mtn again. The drop is bad enough, but now I'll know the guy in the dark will be laughing at me as I'm freaking out over the drop.

Speaking of the Haunted Mansion, I remember years ago they used to have people dressed up and standing somewhere along the knocking doors. One bent over our doombuggy and about scared me to death. Of course my DH was laughing too!

OMG!!! You've never been on splash??? I tell you what.... It's one of my most favorite rides in the whole park besides Pirates & haunted mansion!!! I love it!!!! The good thing about splash is, that when it starts getting chilly my husband and I will on that ride about 10 times in a row with no wait at all and just get totally soaked to the bone because at the end of the night it doesn't matter how wet we get because were just going back to the hotel after the park closes and besides it's all about having a good time and making memories. The drop really isn't that far. I promise!! The drop at the Grizzly river run ride that's over in DCA is pretty close I think, but not for sure. You really should try it. I'm so chicken to go onto tower of terror for fear I might do more then just tinkle and possibly pass out!:faint: That's a high drop if you ask me.:scared1: but I promised my husband that I would at least try it once. Not sure if my stomach can handle it.

That position is called the Base of C lift it was added a few years ago when the old logs were modified to 5 single seats. The CM is basically there to make sure no one is lap sitting

I also wonder if they are there to make sure there are no "flashers"!! I read in the Unofficial Guide that sometimes, some women think it's funny to show off a little.............or should I say alot!!

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Sheesh! They should leave that stuff at home. I guess I am so old I am not interested in that...be it man or woman!

Yep, I must just be so old all I care about is getting my money's worth in Disney entertainment value! :rotfl:
