Alright, a lot of this information is now inaccurate. I'll try to fix what I can
*I think the professional internship is harder to get into and also they don't provide housing like they do for the CP
Housing is now provided for PIs. Except for Management PIs because they don't want the chance of you living in the same place as your subordinates.
-- you live at either Vista Way or Chatham.. may I PLEASE suggest Chatham--I lived there and LOVED it! They are newer apartments and no offence to Vista .. its CLEANER! I had friends at Vista, I didn't care for the apartments, its so funny because Chatham is a complete opposite-newer and cleaner!--you do have a choice unless they are really full with kids and you are "placed"*
First off, there is a new complex across from Chatham. Patterson Court. About 13 or so buildings, 1 is for PIs, a couple are for the Internationals at World Showcase, and the rest are CPs.
I have no idea if you can choose as a CP. As a PI, your in Patterson Building 6. Also, Vista underwent a refurb at some point. I don't know if it was before or after your experience at 06. I've only been over there a few times but it doesn't seem that bad.
They want you to have at least I think either 1 year or 1 college semester completed a 2.0, good standing with your college etc.
You have to be in college when applying. You can be in your first semester/quarter of college and apply. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it because for most people freshman year is what you remember the fondest, but thats a personal call.
But I think what matters is what *ROLE* you are applying for.
For the Summer of 2006 for example, I wanted to do Summer because I didn't have to have the stress of college semester and work-load, I wanted to enjoy my work experience etc. So there were only a FEW roles available for the Summer and they were the ones they were in desperate need of: Lifeguarding,Food & Bev. and Custodial.
Summer programs are now only for CP alumni.
Just be organized, go to the presentation, get your phone interview, get ALL your paperwork in ON TIME. There is a fee for the application(just like a college app) etc.
I'm not positive on this for CPs, but as a PI, we only had to pay a $100 program fee upon arrival. If I recall from reading on here and other places, there is an acceptance fee for CPs, just to save your spot.

Just wanted to try to avoid confusion.
