We're doing our first cruise in March on the Fantasy. My 13 year old boy will be using the Edge club and we're wondering exactly what are the activities? Do they have organized stuff going on or is everyone sort of left on their own?

You might want to look at a navigator to get a detailed list but what I remember, they had scavenger hunts, crafts, athletic challenges, boys against girls games they made flubber trivia challenges, video games and smoothie hour.

Video games, board games, gender wars, scanvenger hunts, Dodge ball, gaga ball, ice cream social, making flubber, brains and brawns, guitar hero, late night arcade...10 trips a day to get ice cream. This is according to my kid.

They also had a special AquaDuck time - I think it was 30 minutes in the evening and my kids loved it - they went on it several times during that window.

Thanks to your kiddo for the great info!

I remember midnight dodge ball a few nights on the Fantasy last summer was a big hit with my 11 year old. Also sports deck games.
They also had an invade the Vibe 14-17 year old club event which he thought was really cool. My 15 year old did not.
When all brother's friends showed up she left the Vibe to hang out with Mom and do crafts.
When they invaded the teen club they had smoothies there. My son also seemed to make a lot of trips to get ice-cream.
He also tried the kid's club for 12 and under, having had a blast there a few years ago on the Dream. However, after trying both, he chose to keep going back to the Edge.
He loved the place and I had a hard time getting him to join the family for dinner.

I have heard to it is important to go the first night. While there are lots of scheduled activities for the club/lab, for the Edge they get some ideas and interests from what group of kids are on the ship.

Sounds like my sons. They love that place. They have friends all over the country they Skype with. I have a hard time keeping all their friends straight.... who's that? Which cruise was he on again? I think it's very cool. I have a feeling this is going to get very interesting when they start getting interested in girls. The ice cream eating is a little out of control, but it's vacation so who cares.
My one rule is to show up to dinner showered, clean clothes, and on time. They have to give me at least 45 minutes at dinner. The kids clubs is the main reason we stick with DCL.

We just got off the 14 night Panama canal cruise. My kids LOVED the Edge and there were tons of activities. We had to make them eat dinner with us each night! Just make sure your child does go the first night to meet others!
