What's good at Tutta Italia?

I made an adr at Tutta Italia (never been) and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for the best things to order?

I had the Bucattini Pasta and loved it. My MIL had the salmon and DH had the lamb - both enjoyed their meals too.

sorry, my first instinct is to say "nothing". It was the most disappointing meal. The appet were delicious!!! We thought we were in for a treat. But the pasta was overcooked in both of our dishes. DH had the bolognese sauce (meatsauce) and it was very dry. I had tomato-basil and it was weak. Remember the Charlie Brown cartoon when someone made hot chocolate by dipping a brown crayon in hot water??? Yeah, I think they must have used a red crayon in ours. It was so disappointing. We had the cannolis for dessert that were suppose to be freshly prepared and they were just horrible. The shells were overcooked and soggy (which shouldn't happen if they were "freshly prepared". The stuffing was not very sweet. We were so disappointed. I suppose it could have been an off night. I waiter was actually fabulous. Attentive to our water glasses, pleasant, funny, but the food was just hideous. And when I think of what we paid for it. Ugh!:scared1:

That's too bad! I'm sorry you were so disappointed. But you said your appetizers were delicious. What did you have?

We had a fantastic meal at Tutto Italia last week! I had the Bucatini Gratinati, it was so delicious and my husband the Trofie, which was amazing! As much as I loved mine, my husband's pasta was even better! I worked for a summer in Italy and the pesto in my husband's meal compared to the pesto I ate in Italy.

Although we were very full after the bread and main meal we still had dessert since it was included in the DDP. My husband had the tiramisu and I had the Copetta Sotto Bosco and my dessert was heavenly! By the way our kids loved it also, they had mozzarella balls for appetizer, two had pizza and two had spaghetti and meatballs. We also had incredible service on our visit. I truly enjoyed our meal at Tutto and will definitely eat there again on our next trip. I hope your experience there is as good as ours!

I echo your sentiments. Both DH and my meals were awful.....we live in an area where there are lots of Italian immigrants..there are Italian Grocery stores and Italian Bakeries here. The "Italian" food at Tutto was incredibly bad. Grizzled proscuitto and canned peas are NOT something I'd expect to find in my $25.00 pasta dish.

Sorry OP, the breads and olives were a nice pre-dinner treat and the waiter was fine but the overall meal.......eh, we won't do it again.

Best wishes for a better meal for you!

I had the best meal of my trip there this past Dec (and that includes the meals I had at Le Cellier and Jiko a few nights later). I had a very thin piece of cold salmon with lemon and capers for an appetizer, fish fillet with clams and olives for an entree, and zabaglione gelato with berries, ginger snaps, and chocolate sauce for dessert:cloud9: . It was so good, I alreadyy have ADRs for there for both my May solo trip and our Sept family trip.

I posted this story when I got back in Dec, but will do so again, since I thought it was so funny. I was dining solo and had a couple probably in their late 50's from New York sitting next to me. (I love New Yorkers' accents). We got to talking. The man was so funny, because the wife had booked Tutto Italia for their Candelight Processional pkg. without telling him. They were seated right after me and boy was he upset. Apparently they had dined at Alfredos in the past and did not like it, so he was not expecting to like Tutto Italia, and was letting his wife know it. They ordered the appetizer for two and ate every bite, while I was sitting next to them drooling over it. I got my fish when they were about half way through their appetizer and even though he was devouring their appetizer like he was starving, I thought he was going to dive face first into my fish. They both ordered pasta dishes and the look of pure joy on that man's face when he first bit into his entree was hilarious. Even though he said their entrees were good, he still kept drooling over mine. His wife and I both teased him about the fit he was throwing when he first came in, he laughed and admitted he was wrong. He then said, we had to understand that his grandmother was Italian, so he was picky about eating Italian food out. He then laughed and said, 'this is just like grandma's maybe better". He continued to drool over my fish/clams until I finally laughed, picked up my plate and offered him some. He got really embarrassed, laughed and said 'no thank you', but then said maybe he would just take a clam. That fish/clams was a huge platter and no way was I going to finish it. When I pushed it away and the waiter came to take my dessert order, I thought my new friend was going to have a stroke. He said he couldn't believe I sent over half of it back, as good as it was. I then got my dessert, while they were finishing their entrees. He started scoping out my dessert and I jokingly wrapped my arm around it, leaned over it, shook my spoon at him, and said, "you touch this, you will lose some fingers. I'll share the fish, but I don't share dessert with anyone". He asked his wife if they could change an ADR to come back later in the week. Anyway, this Southner with my thick accent bonded with a New Yorker (with an even thicker accent) over Italian food at Tutto Italia.

What's good at Tutto Italia? The service. Skip the food. I had the Bucatini Gratinati. I picked the peas out and ate those.
