What's going on with wait times today???

Just looking at Easy wdw waits and they seem pretty extreme, it's 6:30pm on Jan 4th.

BTMRR- 95 min
Buzz - 75 min
HM- 80 min
Jungle Cruise- 110(???)
Space- 130 (over 2 hours??)
Pooh - 60 min......

This is supposed to be a mild day (4 out of 10) and it looks like Christmas day.

7DMT is 150 min, 2.5 hours......

Someone tell me that this isn't just the new reality with Staff cuts....?

DL actually reached capacity today. AP blackouts lifting the past couple of days probably is having some impact.

Probably because people with passes with blackout dates can now get in. I heard Disneyland closed to capacity today, it was the first day the Southern CA annual and seasonal passes had admission.

Also people coming for marathon weekend, the first race is tomorrow so people arrived today.

I concur, this makes the most sense. I check my app all the time (I play the "wait time" game w/friends when we're bored at work) and the past 3 days at WDW were craaazy!! Astro Orbiter was over 100mins yesterday at one point! Simplest answer seems to be "Release the AP Kraken!!"

I was thinking the same thing! Our friends are leaving tomorrow nt., and were expecting a less crowded time.

Also people coming for marathon weekend, the first race is tomorrow so people arrived today.
This is why they extended operating hours

This makes sense - I will have to warn them that it may be busier this weekend.

The Florida resident APs coming off block-out dates is a huge factor. I'm finally done my ridiculous number of days in a row working, and these last two were slammed with AP-related transactions.

I had to fight my way through the runDisney expo after work today to get my 5K packet and that was ridiculous as well. My crowd-phobia has gotten a lot better since working at the parks but that was overwhelming. It wasn't that busy when I went after work for Wine & Dine or Dark Side last year.

It's probably timing on school breaks with Christmas on Sun. Some schools in our area had off the week before Christmas, some this week. It probably caused a lot of people who would go Christmas week to delay to this week. Touring Plans had this week's days at 8-10.

We went yesterday because our blackout dates were over. Our Christmas break doesn't end until Monday the 9th.

We left around noon because it was just getting too crowded and hot.

In addition to lots of schools still on break, AP blackouts lifted, and race crowds, I also heard schools are closed in Ontario Canada this week, so lots of Canadian folks headed to FL this week.

It was insanely crowded at MK yesterday after about 11.
We left at noonish and came back later just for dinner and one FP we had left....then left again.
