What's going on there??

Virgin flight VS015 to Orlando today was delayed by almost FIVE hours!! Anyone got any information as to why this was?? Never heard of such a lengthy delay on this one before.

Sorry you had such a long delay. Our flight to Orlando was delayed last year, the cause was that there was a problem with the plane so I was happy to give them all the time they wanted to fix it!!! Just wish it hadn't taken 23hours trust me, that long in an airport and you start to go crazy!! I'd imagine the most likely cause of your delay was a technical error somewhere along the line.

I wasn't on that flight Queenie. We fly next Monday and I've been keeping an eye on departure and arrival times on VA's flight status facility. Noticed that yesterday's (Sunday's) 1230 flight didn't take off until after 5pm and today's was almost 3 hours late! Just hoping it's not going to be a long-term trend!!

I thought I was the only sad person who looked at the flight arrival times..
Hope I'm wrong but seems to be becoming a bit of a trend with Virgin Atlantic, when we flew to Miami in December we had a five hour delay ( our worst ever ) and I noticed one flight from Orlando a couple of weeks ago was almost 24 hours late. Several others including the one you mentioned have had delays of an hour or more. Lets just hope it's a glitch and they get back to their usual punctual service.

From what information I've been given since originally posting this thread it would seem that these delays are weather-related. South and Central Florida were under severe weather watches apparently, and some flights were either delayed or diverted. Prior to this weekend some Virgin flights had been arriving at MCO up to 45 minutes EARLY so I hope this is just a minor glitch in what has been a pretty reliable service of late!!
