what's going on over there? TR thread???

I just got back up here after a few hours of doing Disney Scrapbooks and I hear some Trip Reports are being closed????

What is up??


Where can I find the rules of the TR thread? I would like to keep mine (and all the others) alive!!

The writers of those reports spend a lot of time writing, editing, adding photos, etc...

Dangnabits I leave and miss out....

the rule seems to be 'no chit chat' keep it to topic for your Disney World trip or pre-trip, everyone can comment nicely, but if the thread starts to wander about everyday life, you're getting moved over here, deleted or closed from the way things have played out today. If you read the thread started by lillygator (should be at the top of the TR board threads) you'll see what some of the mods consider appropriate TR posting and inappropriate, and just hope people on your thread don't stray while they're waiting for you to post again...otherwise all of your hard work may be down the tubes...

That doesn't seem quite fair. Why not lock the thread so that noone else can post to it, but they can at least read the TR?

That's exactly what happened.

The Trip Reports forum is a busy place, and the moderators found that all the chit-chat threads were making it hard to find the Trip Reports!

Locking the chit-chat threads and redirecting them to the more appropriate Community Board was a good housekeeping move, done in order to make the Trip Reports forum easier to navigate and read.

The moderators on all the different forums here work hard to make this a fun place to visit and post, and the actions they take are to help keep it that way and make this a better and more entertaining, safe and tidy website. It's a pretty thankless job, as evidenced by some of the really harsh reactions here, but we're really glad they keep on doing it!

Here's what the mods posted on the Trip Reports forum- pretty self-explanatory and shouldn't be hard to follow:

Please remember that this board is for TRIP REPORTS and not discussions between people.......you can do that in EMAILS....or start a post on the Community board
