What's going on Dec 1-5?

A number of the DVC resorts (studios) are already booked up for the first weekend in December! Especially the night of the 4th. Is there anything going on besides MVMCP & CLP?

One year I stayed at Pop because I couldn't get a DVC reservation for that very weekend. A DF's daughter was singing in the CP's choir and I just had to make a special trip down.

all of the period from thanksgiving to new years is peak season for booking DVC. many owners book early december at 10-11 months out since the decorations are up and points are down.

Yep wasn't taking any chances for that first week in Dec after reading all the info on the boards about how busy that week is - booked BCV Dec 4-9 right at 11 month window - DS really wants to be at Kidani so will be trying to change at 7 months but don't hold out too much hope unless there are a lot of AKV owners trying to change also.

I was able to book BWV 1bdrm Bw view yesterday for the nov. 26-dec 3.
I wanted to book a standard but the 1 was not available.

i would be surprised if a bw view was still available at this point...all preferred views are not bw views...

Congrats on getting the Boardwalk for your trip. I had a similar situation the other day for Thanksgiving weekend. It is nice when the 7 month window works out!!

Thank you!!!! This year we decided to do it a little different. Most people check into dvc resorts on Sunday we said lets check in on Saturday and stay through the next Saturday and we got it!!!!

Ummmm, it's my DW's bday of course (the 4th).

I've always found the first week of December to requrie a 11 month booking. We were there prior to a cruise and book a home resort. We are planning agin for 2012, so will be booking again at the 11 month window. With the low points, parade taping and a variety of other activities, the first week and part of the second week are very busy.

FWIW, sometimes you can get a great deal on non-DVC accommodations at that time. Since you were looking for a studio, it could be a good alternative, and you could rent your points or save them for another trip. It's our favorite time to be at Disney!

We fully plan to book blt for 2012 that week with mk view. Only because of the decorations and castle lights. Otherwise we use our 11 mos. Window for standard view.

This thread had me a little worried since today is my day to call for Dec 1-6, 1BR for 2a3ch. Just called and had no problem getting at AKL; could have gone with OKW too.

Great! Right at 7 months, I'm glad something was available for you! When I tried to book, it was much later because the CP schedule for schools needs to come out.

I called yesterday to book a 2 bedroom for Nov 30 to Dec 7th. All that was available was AKL, SSR or OKW. We took OKW and this will be our first stay there.
