I am going all out tonight and making a turkey dinner, complete with mashed potatoes, stuffing, and all! :)

Im celebrating dh's big presentation for his promotion hes giving it right now and I just KNOW hes going o be wonderful! :)

So what are you all having for dinner tonight?

plan is Porcupine meatballs...mashed taters and either brussel sprouts and corn on the cob with a salad for starters.....

BLT's, still have tons of fresh tomatoes from my garden. Also a fresh salad with leaf lettuce, cukes and beans from the garden.(with cherry tomatoes).
Don :)

Do I even want to ask what Porcupine Meatballs are??

We're having BBQ chicken breasts (which are marinating in a Chardonnay Vinegrette dressing) & Bratwurst, along with baked potatos & fresh green beans sauteed in olive oil & garlic.

We did the turkey dinner last week ~ yummy!! Don't forget the cranberry sauce!! :D

Dinner for the neighbors--my night tonight!

Chicken squares
Tomato and Basil Salad (Marinating)
Pistachio Fluff dessert (Chilling)

leftovers from last night:

Pork Chops
Stove Top Stuffing
and a vegetable (not leftover)

Dinner!? Hmmm well ahhhh think I'll read this thread then decide ;)

Simple Italian meatballs are sounding good though and I know there is one pecan pie left out in the freezer from DS selling pies for scouts.

Tomato and Basil Salad (Marinating)

Care to share the recipe? I have tons of tomatos ripening now.

So glad you asked today because I am actually cooking something!!

The whole family is coming over because my grandparents go back to CA on Friday. We are having BBQ chicken made in the crockpot, baked potatos (toes??), fresh corn on the cob, salad, rolls, and for dessert.......homemade icecream.

A friend of ours invited us over for Chili Dogs :) He can't make it to the State Fair this year b/c of a bum knee, so he is making his own. I don't do hot dogs, so I will be having just chili :)

DD(11) has been having a meatloaf hankering. I made it last night now all I have to do is pop it in the oven when I get in an do some potatoes.

I don't care for it but I'll eat it. I have the recipe for those porcupine meatballs but have never made them. How are they?

I'll swap my meatloaf anyday for Turkey Dinner!!! Yummy.

they are two pounds of burger ....I used one part venison and one part beef burger.......then a pkg of the new lipton side rice dishes ....which is spanish........then mix all together.......with a half cup of water......to make the consistancy good
make good size balls and bake in oven covered for one hour then add a little moisture in bottom of pan and uncover for another 35 minutes or so....then put a small amount of sauce on the balls.....then serve either with rice or potatoes...that is what a porcupine meatball is....because the rice looks like quills

Cinders:

Oh how I miss tomatos from the garden. It is too hot here in TX (at least that is what I have been told) to grow tomatos. Our yard just does not have any shade! I have to make do with the tomatos on the vine from the grocery store. Anyhow, I am just trying the Tomato Salad for the first time tonight. I did try it jsut now and it does taste good.

Called for :

3 pint cherry tomatos (I used 12 on the vine tomatos sliced thin)
1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
1 1/2 Tablespoons Olive or veg. oil
Salt and pepper to taste.

Combine all in bowl . Mix well. Chill for 2 hours or until ready to eat.

I am a sucker to easy recipies!!

Let me know if you like it!

I'm making chicken quadillas (?sp).
Last night we had BLT's. We also have lots of tomatoes from our garden.

Ugggh.... I have to go to a meeting today at 5:30, so I can either put a pork roast in the oven right before I go and hope the meeting gets over on time , or cook something easy when I get home -lately it seems that I'm the only one who knows where the oven is at our house:rolleyes:

I have a ham with a light sauce made of apricot jam and water in the crockpot. I'm eating low-carb and am not sure what veggies to make - probably just green beans. I may make Bisquick biscuits for the kids.

I am having Manwich(made with Ground turkey breast)and french Fries.Theni will use what turkey i have left over for tacos tomorrow night.
