My favorite at-home meal is something we sort of threw together one day. Can't say that I've ever seen it on a menu but we like it:
Broiled salmon steaks in a teriyaki marinade. Then either pecans or almonds finely crushed and sprinkled on top for the last 2 minutes in the broiler just to slightly toast them. Usually have this with risotto (sometimes a cheese risotto) and fresh broccoli.
You can probably tell I'm no chef. And some will read this and be instantly turned off. But DW and I enjoy it. YMMV.
Pot roast in the crock pot with potatoes, carrots, celery, onions. This is our winter-blizzard stayed in the house playing board games all day-dinner.
We haven't had eithor of these for awhile, pretty sure we have a pot roast or two in the freezerSheppard's Pie. Another easy one that has simple ingredients most kids would eat.......and it's cheap. We like cheap!!!

With a name like @Gumbo4x4 I would expect a little more from you. See what I did there? Funny right? Ok not really, but I couldn't resist. No inspiration here - we had frozen pizza.
I made Chicken & Dumplings tonight. Soooo good. It was chilly and rainy and it was good to have some comfort food. Tomorrow I think I will make Spaghetti & Meat Sauce since I have enough ground beef to make meatballs and a couple of pieces of sausage to use up.
This week I also made Chili, and Paëlla.
