I swear I wont say a word to the DP! We should start a game..."How well I know my parther!" :yay:

And if I say anything he says "It makes good leftovers"......What ya gonna do?

Love him, darlin', just love him! I happen to know he's been VERY, VERY good to you!!!:banana::banana:

Sweety, I'm holding you to it and if you would just LOOK SOUTH you would see when we'll next be down!!!

I must be channeling someone -- we had Chinese last night for dinner.

1 tub House Fried Rice
1 tub Sweet & Sour Chicken
1 General Tso Combination Platter
a nice unoaked chardonnay for R and a G&T for K

It was lovely.

We found a "meal assembly" business near our house, and it certinally has taken a lot of guess work out of the "what's for dinner" discussions. For about $250 a month, we end up with 24 dinners (for two) or 12 dinners (for four). We can go and prepare the dishes ourselves, or pay a fee and just go pick them up. In the freezer they go and each Sunday we map out food for the week and on Monday I go to the grocery store for the sides we need for the week.

The quality is always good and there is no way we could end up with this kind of meal variety for $250 a month without them. We've been doing it now for a year, and have only hit one dish that we flat out hated (something with goat cheese - ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww).

Now you are probably asking yourself, how did we end up with Chinese when I have a freezer full of dinners? You have to take one out to thaw and we forgot. :rotfl2:

Well here we go again....

It's got to be 95 in the shade right now, so the oven is NOT going to go on, thats a fact. So option #2 is the grill. Just looked outside and it's getting dark and the wind is picking up, so the afternoon storm must be approaching. Maybe the grill is not such a good idea after all.

I vote we go out!

But where? I detest chains, although here in Orlando/Kissimmee thats about all we have. We do have a few independently owned places, Mexican, Italian, and a Steak House. Hmmmmmm

Any ideas?

Ugh ... I'm too tired to think about food and I sure hope Gwen is grillin something tonight, cause I'm sure not cooking either.

If HAD to eat something :) I guess I would go for Mexican.

One vote for Mexican!

Pork tenderloin coated in pesto with spinach for the vegetable. I feel like some stuffed mushrooms too but my laziness wins out over the desire to go to the store to buy the ingredients!:lmao: I spent all day yesterday running errands and I'm not dealing with the masses again today.

Just finished BBQ Pork Chops on the grill with fresh grilled asparagus from yesterday's farmer's market (lightly tossed in Italian dressing...I'm using my Julia Childs' voice here, can you hear it?) with new tiny red potatoes lightly brushed in absolutely virgin olive oil and oven roasted to perfection.

And in a few hours, a freshly made strawberry shortcake awaits. There's plenty, anyone want to come over and share?

I will be right over and don't think that's hyperbole, because I get around!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Mike, what WAS for dinner????????

It rained so hard here around dinner time even going out was not an option! I almost videotaped it! We must have gotten 4 inches in one hour. The DP even commented, "geesh, i's almost like a hurricane out there" so we made homemade pizza and a small tossed salad. (The oven issue was moot now that the temperature dropped 20 degrees in the same hour!:lmao: )

Pretty lame for Sunday dinner, but oh well, there is always tomorrow!

Awww, was it bad? sorry :sad2:

But wait..... it gets lamer here! LOL I must confess, it wasn't really homemade pizza, it was that pilsbury dough rolled out, canned sauce slapped on, and cheese thrown on top!

So I guess I'm "troubled white trash" today! :rotfl2:

You win!

STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cant wait for the market to open to go grocery shopping. My vacation ended yesterday (started 5/23), and I am dying for some home cooked food. Albeit I am a foodie and I LOVED the food in Barcelona, (DCL was ok) I just want to throw something on the grill. I'll whip up some marinade for chicken or london broil, I'll have to see what I have in the spice cabinet.......and my new spices I bought in France...oh what those are in my lost piece of luggage.

I vote we go out!

There's a great french place right near my house. Go west on I-4 to the Champions Gate exit (2 exits west of World Drive). Turn right and into the Publix plaza, the french place is right next to the italian place. The french place is good, the Italian not so much.

If you do want good Italian, there is a place called Bruno's on 192 west of Disney (near where Freedom resort used to be). Great place for real Italian :thumbsup2

I'm gonna start a new thread....

"Hate chain restaurants? Try these localally owned places"
