What's for Breakfast Today?

Breakfast: Almond milk, coffee, and a peanut butter cranberry breakfast cookie

Lunch: Ham and cheese sandwich, carrots and hummus, strawberries

Snack: Cherries and a yogurt

Dinner: Probably a protein shake. I won't get home until 8pm (work followed by a night class) and don't want to eat a full meal!

Water: So far I have drank 1.5L (appx 50 oz) I need at least 30oz more! I read somewhere that your water intake should equal (in oz) 1/2 your body weight. So if you weigh 150lb you should drink 75oz of water a day

Breakfast today was a chicken sausage breakfast wrap and 3/4 of an iced venti skinny caramel macchiato from Starbucks.

Today was a grilled low carb roll (similar to a Sandwich Thin) shmeared with a tablespoon of cashew butter. My toaster went to the dump a few weeks ago and I am really missing it, but grilling was a good alternative. Coffee with skim on the side, of course. I'll have fruit in a bit as a mid-morning snack........P

And an exact repeat today! Today's fruit will be raspberries and mango......P

Today was plain oatmeal with walnut halves, a tsp of raw honey and a diced fresh Georgia peach.

And coffee with 1% milk.

Lunch was half a chicken burrito with rice, fat free greek yogurt, avocado slices and salsa.

Dinner, grilled veggie burger with WW bun (insides mostly scooped out) and side of edamame, cranberry, kale, carrot salad.

But...the BEST part of the day was the incredible Yasso coconut frozen greek yogurt bar! It had 80 calories, 6 g.protein and was INCREDIBLE! :thumbsup2

For breakfast every morning I have a Premier Protein "shake" in chocolate. My doctor requires me to drink 2 shakes a day. If I am still hungry I will have some eggs and either bacon or sausage. It may sound like an anti-diet but I have a specific medical condition and I can only eat a small amount of carbs a day. Usually the shake keeps me going until lunch. It has 30g of Protein, 160 calories and only 5 g of carbs.

I'm all ears for any kind of interesting shake. I looove shakes and smoothies. I'm just learning how to work with protein powder. Just bought some organic whey with no flavor and then some chocolate soy/whey combo. What's your recipe or any variations that you like?

It's not a recipe. It is a premixed drink. I buy them by the case at Costco but Safeway also carries it. They are really tasty and don't taste like a protein drink. Go to premierprotein.com and check them out. This is 1 of 2 brands that my Doctor (Bariatric and Women's health specialist) recommends. I am supposed to have a minimum of 60g of protein a day and these fulfill that requirement.

So, what is everyone here having for breakfast today?

For me it was a 2-egg white (liquid egg whites) omelet with mushrooms and a tablespoon of salsa on top, along with 2 strips of turkey bacon, and 1/2 cup strawberries and blackberries.

Sounds like my breakfast! Except not fruit or shrooms.. but love my egg whites now. Kinda funny but full eggs seem almost too rick to me now.

This morn, I had half an ezekial sprouted grain muffin toasted, 1 oz. 50% fat cabot's cheddar, 1 eggland best egg white, 1 small piece grilled country ham (less than 1 oz) and some fresh organic cherries.

The calories are 302 with 24 grams of protein. I like to buy these little packets of small sized lean country ham. It packs tons of flavor and is a fun vacation from canadian bacon.

Lots of protein and flavor! Watching my food is tough, but if it has tons of flavor, it's so much easier! :)
