Out of all the holidays the only one I prepare for "the crowd" is Xmas breakfast DS and DSIL usually take care of T'giving, Easter, New Years Day, 4th of July...
This year like every other year we really make breakfast for Dad He wants it simple ~ good coffee, scrambled eggs, cinnamon rolls, bacon, sausage, homefries, and tomatoe juice. For the rest of us I add Mimosas (OJ for the kids), Bloody Marys, english muffins, blueberry muffins and a nice fruit salad.
Yummy coffee, goat cheese and chive scrambled eggs, and fresh fruit. We did Egg Nog French Toast for several years and wanted to do something different this year.
Ok , I feel out of place.
Christmas morning we just eat whatever goodies Santa left in our stockings
It's the only time that we allow ourselves candy for breakfast
Oh my goodness, I haven't had red-eye gravy in forever! It is soooo yummy over a big bowl of steaming hot grits! And yes, it is most definitely a Southern thing.
We are having our traditional Christmas breakfast: sausage-egg-cheese casserole, home made cheese danish, mixed citrus fruit, and a LOT of coffee!
That's for opening gifts, then we will eat at 10 at my sister's. I know we are having ham, and I am taking stuff for cheese fondue and chocolate fondue, DD is getting a fondue set!
Ok , I feel out of place.

Don't worry, we have candy for breakfast on Christmas, too. I'm always too dang tired to worry about cooking a big breakfast! Although this year, we're headed to DFi's parents' house after we open presents, so maybe they'll spoil us and cook us some breakfast..

You're not the only one. I am not a morning person at all so the whole idea of getting up early and the cooking breakfast is not for me. I can't remember the last time I cooked breakfast in the morning and not at dinner time.
We'll just raid the cookie stash and whatever is in the stockings and call it a morning.
