SR on Indy is relatively new. That may be why.Ridemax doesn't offer Indy in a Single Rider option like it does for Splash Mountain. I wonder why?

Disney changes things all the time. Years ago we did Single Rider at Indy - and then the next year when we tried to get a pass the CM acted as though they never heard of it.Ridemax doesn't offer Indy in a Single Rider option like it does for Splash Mountain. I wonder why?
At DL Space Mtn is side by side. At MK it is one at a time. At DL Splash Mtn is one at a time and at MK Splash is side by side. Matterhorn is in the process of changing its seats for the first time in probably 50 years. It is still one at a time, but they used to let two people sit in the same seat. Really good for smooching with your honey. While we're talking about rides-I haven't ridden space mountain on my last few visits to WDW and DL. Can someone remind me if you have your own seat w/some one in front of you or if you sit side by side with someone. Also, is the Matterhorn still like that with someone being able to sit in front of you. And, is Splash like that at DL? I know at WDW my ds was okay b/c he could sit by me. The answers to these questions may help decide if ds will ride any of these rides.
It appears that will change with the new seats when it re-opens.So, for Splash our 6 yo would be sitting by himself in a seat? I can guarantee he won't do that ride then. He might do Matterhorn if he can ride w/me and Space if we can be side by side. I don't think he'll be tall enough for Indy, but we'll see...

Has anyone ridden IJ single rider lately? Do you still go through the exit? I'm confused because I thought everyone was now channelled into the room to watch the safety movie, even single riders. I would like to know if I can just go throught the exit for our trip in October.
Do we need to get a pass from a CM for Indy to go through the Exit and be a single rider? Or just go on in? Dang wish I knew about this last time we went! Stood outside waiting for my husband (with our two small kids) for about 30 minutes while he was in the FP line. Took so long I gave my FP away!
