What's Faster - Single Rider or FastPass?

Ridemax doesn't offer Indy in a Single Rider option like it does for Splash Mountain. I wonder why?
Disney changes things all the time. Years ago we did Single Rider at Indy - and then the next year when we tried to get a pass the CM acted as though they never heard of it.

The time we did use single rider it was much quicker than the baby swap or fast pass. Our oldest is not tall enough to ride - so single rider isn't an option anymore (not quite willing to separate from a 9-year-old on rides yet).

While we're talking about rides-I haven't ridden space mountain on my last few visits to WDW and DL. Can someone remind me if you have your own seat w/some one in front of you or if you sit side by side with someone. Also, is the Matterhorn still like that with someone being able to sit in front of you. And, is Splash like that at DL? I know at WDW my ds was okay b/c he could sit by me. The answers to these questions may help decide if ds will ride any of these rides.

At DL Space Mtn is side by side. At MK it is one at a time. At DL Splash Mtn is one at a time and at MK Splash is side by side. Matterhorn is in the process of changing its seats for the first time in probably 50 years. It is still one at a time, but they used to let two people sit in the same seat. Really good for smooching with your honey. ;) It appears that will change with the new seats when it re-opens.

Space Mt - Side by side
Splash - 4 one behind each other, last row two small adults side by side
Matterhorn - behind each other, two people per section (hugging seating)

So, for Splash our 6 yo would be sitting by himself in a seat? I can guarantee he won't do that ride then. He might do Matterhorn if he can ride w/me and Space if we can be side by side. I don't think he'll be tall enough for Indy, but we'll see...

DD & I can fit side by side at the very back of Splash. Or she'll sit right in front of me towards the back and for the big drop I lean forward and hold on to her.

Like BlueBayou said, the very back of the log on Splash can sit two side by side. Tell them you want that seat.

honugirl, yeah, sometimes you have to wait, because they have to have unused space to fit the single riders in. And hubby encountered a bizarre moment on Screamin', where either the seater CM was clueless, new, or angry, because he ignored the single rider line entirely for WAY too long.

Has anyone ridden IJ single rider lately? Do you still go through the exit? I'm confused because I thought everyone was now channelled into the room to watch the safety movie, even single riders. I would like to know if I can just go throught the exit for our trip in October.

I'm going to have to check out SRL at IJ. I just noticed the sign about it last week.

I haven't have much success with SRL on Soarin'. Sometimes it can take a long time.

SRL on Maliboomer is great when there's a line. If there isn't a line, you can get there almost as quick in the regular line. If they need to fill some holes, and there's no one in the SLR line, they will ask for 1, or 2, from the line.

On Matterhorn, while there is no SRL, pay attention as you get closer to boarding. If they need 1 (or 2) to fill a sled, they will ask those closest to the end of the line.

GRR SLR is great! My DD10 loves to ride so I let her go by herself. She can get a few rides in usually in a short time.

Wish they still have SRL at TSM. They need it!:confused3

Have fun!

You go in the exit, then you wait at a rope where the regular line is standing, and then the CM will walk you into the movie room.

Do we need to get a pass from a CM for Indy to go through the Exit and be a single rider? Or just go on in? Dang wish I knew about this last time we went! Stood outside waiting for my husband (with our two small kids) for about 30 minutes while he was in the FP line. Took so long I gave my FP away!

Ask the CM in front for a pass, you'll need it to show the CM inside the ride.

I did Soarin' Last September (last Wednesday of the month) using SR & I waited over 20 minutes & there were only a few people in front of me (and I had to speak up when some kids tried to cut ahead of me)....FP line was MUCH faster.

Maliboomer SR line was super fast, as was Indy (but there was no regular line for Indy anyway so it really didn't matter). Screamin' has always seemed to be much faster using SR. I wish Space Mtn had single rider, but when I asked last September they didn't have it & no plans to add it (I was stuck going around DL all by myself our 2nd/last day in DL because DH caught a stomach bug & was stuck in the hotel).
