I've heard rumors going on that theirs supposed to be some sort of E-Ticket attraction rumored to be built at frontier land in the future at Magic Kingdom. Just all speculation for now; and what does the future hold for Epcot? I think the entire section of future world could use like a major overhaul change like DHS is doing now. DHS BTW has already confirmed star wars land, toy story land, now what about cars land? Monsters INC? Indiana Jones show still running, LMA, Beauty and the beast show replacement??? Tower of Terror? Great movie ride, rock n roller coaster, marvel land? Are any of these rumors still very strong including the Indy show like I said before being replaced by an Indy ride? Why is it taking Disney so long to announce the changes coming to the Hollywood studios? I thought we were supposed to hear everything about DHS future including park name change at D3 expo? AK seems to be all about Avatar Land opening in 2017...but I didn't hear anything about the boat ride coming so I guess it's just one ride which will just be the flying simulator attraction???

the short version:

New restaurant for jungle cruise
14 acre star wars last for HS (largest ever expansion) with 2 new rides + fireworks display
Toy Story Land for HS (you walk into andy's backyard). 2 new rides, 1 is a claw ride, the other is a family coaster you ride on slinky dog
star tours will get an update for the new film in the meantime.
TSMM is now getting 2 new tracks, not just a second for a total of 3 tracks so more can ride with less wait.
avatar is not going to be highlights of the film, named pandora and it's exploring the world
night show at animal kingdom looks like animal version of fantasmic to me.
AK KS will be longer with some new animals and they are going to "extend dusk" and go a little noctural for later rides, not just a couple hours later.

Search D23 in youtube and you'll easily find dozens of videos from a lot of people about it who recorded the actual announcement panel. The Dis unplugged shows (2 per day) did a pretty good verbal rundown of everything.,

nope 2 rides including a boat ride

Point of clarification...

Midway mania is getting 1 new track...for a total of 3. Soaring is getting a new theater to bring the total to 3. A 33% capacity increase for each ride

How are they handling the digital upgrade for Soaring? With screen #3 online they can drop one of the other two for upgrading, but if they're currently running two screens, either they need to halve the capacity for a while, or they'll have one upgraded screen and one crappy one, which will probably cause some ill-will in the line.

The first post on this thread has a good rundown of what was announced at D23 Expo and what was rumored but NOT announced.

The first post was great...

I thought it was fair...giving the details as best we have them, discussing potential, while not completely ignoring the downsides.

Bravo.

I get the feeling that the poster is thinking "there's gotta be more to come" for studios.

Highly disagree...this is definitely investment - but the cost accounting kind that has become solid in granite for the operation of wdw.

It's sad...but predictable.

No backlash for nfl...none for avatar. Cause and effect

Installing a new screen and projector shouldn't take more than a week. Its really not that big or hard of a job to do.

The frontierland rumor comes from a strong source at wdwmagic.

Right now the only thing for Epcot is frozen in Norway and the new film in soarin. Rumors are also out there that a new illuminations is in the works.

Cars and monsters are still rumors and Jim Hill is the big talker behind those. However I still think we haven't seen everything from the DHS budget.

No Indy ride.

going from 2 tracks to 3 tracks (or 2 screens to 3 screens) is a 50% increase.

I know, I know...I'm familiar with percentages.

I'm admittedly looking at it backwards/incorrectly...

After completion each ride will handle 33% more riders per hour than they currently do... As a percentage of the whole. As in the new theater will be a third of the capacity going forward.

I do math like a proctologist...from the bottom up ;)

I wondered why that one I found was writing in "Brown" lead. Didn't seem like a colored pencil! :teeth:

It's a special scratch n sniff...give it a try

(Ok...I'm stopping the middle school humor now before I go completley off the rails)

Do you know that for a clear fact that DHS will do nothing for Indy? With a rumored fifth Indiana jones film coming out...maybe you weren't aware of this....I don't think it's totally impossible for Disney Hollywood studios to add a newer version of a Indiana jones ride-something totally different from its sister parks at Tokyo Disney Sea-Temple of the Crystal Skull, Disneyland Paris Indy coaster, or Disneyland(Anaheim) temple of the forbidden eye. Indy getting a fresh reboot too in Hollywood it's not just Star Wars. Both Lucasfillm franchises always have a place on my heart. They haven't even said if tower of terror is safe-heard a rumor it will be changed into tangled??? I hope not, what about rock n roller coaster, LMA SHOW, beauty and the beast? IJESS-even though you said your 100% sure it's not coming. A rumor I have heard is that Disneyland Shanghai will be adding the Indy epic stunt spectacular from WDW.

The Indiana jones film isn't even in or near production yet it's just being talked about. Indy is not confirmed to be leaving or staying at DHS at this time. However with the rumored place for Star Wars it would seem it would be leaving.

I know that but Chris Pratt is rumored to be the new front runner to play dr jones. And Spielberg is confirmed to direct another Indy film if not hell produce it for sure. As far as the frontier land rumor over at MK...yes wdw Magic has only said a new e-ticket would be located between Tom Sawyer island and another frontier land attraction close by. Western river expedition wax a long rumored attraction that was suppose to come to frontier land years and years ago.

Disney aren't in the habit of throwing vast amounts of money to retheme something that's already working. Nor could they afford to close it right now anyway. Tower of Terror isn't changing any time in the foreseeable future.

As far as Indiana Jones is concerned, while I'm a big fan of the character we have to be realistic. The 5th movie isn't greenlit. No one's been cast, there's no script. It's just people talking right now. And it will probably stay that way until the Star Wars franchise is well underway again. When was the last time Disney put a ride into the parks ahead of a movie release? Star Wars Land is probably the closest to that we've ever had.

Where did you see Spielberg confirmed? The only thing that has been confirmed is Kathleen Kennedy saying they will reboot Indiana jones at some point.

I didn't say anything in that post about frontierland but yes it's rumored by a good source on wdwmagic to get a new e ticket. Location of the attraction is still questionable. Western river is supposed to be not it. With that rumor it was also said that country bear overlays may make a return.
