What's close to Marriott World Center?

I have a conference there in late September and I was checking out prices because my parents are tagging along. Looks like the rack rate is around $250 for a standard room, though they would be able to get a senior citizen rate for under $200. I was wondering if there are places close by that are a better buy. This is value season at Disney, surely we can do better for offsite pricing, right? Also, I'm a little concerned because I'm seeing a lot of negative reviews regarding this hotel not being worth the cost. I'd feel better about staying there if the prices were a little lower-- anyone know when they might come out with specials? Also, how long does it take to get to Disney from there? Thanks!!

it is very close to Disney - so a WDW resort would be a choice.

I believe Buena Vista Suites is not too far away. Maybe Sheraton Vistana Resort as well.

If you leave the resort and go right you run right into WDW property. If you go left the first light you come to is 535, which is loaded with resorts and hotels. If you just want cheap, have a car and aren't too particular about where you end up any Priceline winning bid in the WDW area will have you within 10 minutes or less drive from Marriott World. The LBV Comfort Inn is also having a $29 special, you can see if that is available for your dates. The Holiday Inn in Downtown Disney is also finishing up their renovation, look for a special there.

As suggested above, Sheraton Vistana is just around the corner. Embassy Grand Beach just across the street from them.

Another block up, but with bad traffic, is Marriott World Village with three lower cost Marriott Properties. Spring Hill Suites, Fairfield and Courtyard if I remember correctly.

Hilton Vacation Club International Dr is just on down the street from them.

Lots of choices.

You are near literally thousands and thousands of hotel rooms. Do you have a particular brand you prefer?

Sheraton Vistana - I'm quite sure it borders the Marriott property.

Should have no problem getting a nicely refurbished villa at that time too!
