Whats changed since 2008?

We havent been to Disneyland and Cali Adventure since June 2008. Could you please tell me what has changed? TIA:worship:
o WORLD OF COLOR! See "World of Color Superthread" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=37986447

o Upgraded Fantasmic - new dragon plus improved projection

o Upcoming by June 3 - Improved Star Tours and new Little Mermaid ride at DCA

o New Soundsational parade at DL coming in May

o Pixie Hollow

I think that
Abe Lincoln
Captain Eo
Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough
have all returned since June 2008.

Electronica at DCA

Peter Pan ride experience is pretty much the same, but the ride vehicles have been changed. The ride just looks fresher and cleaner, and you can now fit 3 to a boat, sometimes even a small 4.

I'm thinking you were last there before the extended Small World refurb during which they added new characters and made some other changes? Some people like the changes; some people hate them. Check it out for yourself.

Tangled Meet and Greet - chance to meet the princess from Disney's latest movie.

Some changes have been made along the rivers of America, so the Mark Twain boat ride feels a little fresher.

Hydroguy! You help me big time back in 2008! Especially with the FPs. That made our whole trip! Thanks for the updates! I am reading the threads here but I knew I could count on the people here to give me some fast answers. :lovestruc

longtimedisneylurker - We missed IASW because it was still being refurbished. Cant wait to see it! Its a classic and a not miss for me. Thank you for the info!:yay:

Next up a tour plan! I bet the line for Toy Story Mania isnt as bad as it was in 2008 or is it? We got to the park before it opened and ran to TSM...lol At the time the ride was new and we were glad we did that because the line got longer and longer all day!

The lines for TSMM are still very long & people still do the mad dash at opening......so it's still very popular & you can plan on waiting at least 30 minutes to get on. We went at the first part of March (before most spring breaks happened) & waited 25 mins.....we walked on to almost everything else.

There is still a crowd of people going to TSMM first thing. Though it still gets long lines not as bad as it's first summer. Of course when the Little Mermaid opens in June this could change the early morning crowd patterns.

In CA Adventure, the Orange Stinger is now the Silly Symphony Swings--no longer enclosed in an orange peel and differently themed. And of course the ferris wheel has a big Mickey head on it now--same ride though.

Do you have little ones? The Playhouse Disney show has been slightly rethemed--the Pooh segment is gone and Jake and the Neverland Pirates has taken Pooh's place. The rest of the show is the same though and it now is a Disney Junior show.

Oh, and of course the big CALIFORNIA letters are gone from the front of California Adventure. I know that one is going to shock my children when we get there.

Don't forget the Tangled Meet n Greet--that's a new one! It is near Pinocchio in Fantasyland.

Was the submarine refurb completed last time you were there?

Wow lots of changes! Im gonna miss the California letters!

This trip its just going to be me, my 14yr old son and his dad (my X).
Im interested in getting autographs/pics if the lines arnt outragous!
Can you get a FP for TSMM? I dont think you could in 2008.

Yes we did Nemo right after TSMM in 2008!

Im thinking we should do this fist? These are most important to us.

Soarin' - Ride & get FP
Get FP for WOC
TSMM - Ride & get FP

OR should we...

Get FP for WOC
TSMM - Ride & get FP
Soarin' - Ride & get FP

OR ...

TSMM - Ride & get FP
Get FP for WOC
Soarin' - Ride & get FP

TIA

No fastpass for Toy Story and no single rider either.

The Toy Story line does still get really long during peak times. We saw waits of 60+ when we were there a week ago during spring break time. I agree though that crowd patterns could certainly change when Little Mermaid opens up. CMs are being told to expect 3 hour lines for the opening of Little Mermaid.

If you are arriving before 10AM, definitely do this:
-Get Soarin FP
-Get WoC FP
-Ride TSMM

If you get there at or before 9:30AM, you can probably squeeze in a ride on Soarin and get then follow the above plan. Just to let you know, DCA officially opens at 10, but Soarin (and its FP machines) and WoC FP machines are open to the public every day at 9:30.

We will be there at 9:00AM waiting for them to let us in!

We are going to be there Monday April 25 or 26 for 1 day. Then probably come back Thursday April 28 for our second day. How do you think the crowds will be those days? Ive read they shouldn't be to bad but I'm skeptical.

I'd guess fairly calm. With Easter so late the week before will be busy, but it's hard for school districts to move thier breaks so far back. Few school will have off the week after.

I don't know if you picked up on this, DLR kind of states it. But for your first ride on Soarin, FP then ride it. Also when you go to TSMM you if the window for Soaring is open, because that is the first ride FP you got....Then grab a FP for Screamin if you can't yet then right after riding TSMM.

LOL Am I riding Screamin? My DS will want me to. Maye I will!

Thanks for all your help!!
