Whats busier UEA weekend or Veterans Day weekend?

I'm actually going both of those weekends this year. Not that it will help much after the fact, but I'll report back on which I felt was the busiest.

Usually I would say UEA, but this year some of the Utah schools are off the weekend before. This should help alleviate some of the usual crowding for UEA.

I'll be going UEA weekend this year. Last year we went Veterans weekend and it really wasn't too bad. Staying on site and having magic morning helps so much! We get 3 times as much stuff done in one hour as we do all day!

I've been Vet's weekend before and it was "summer busy" which is normal for us anyway. We are going Vet's weekend this year too. Have to see if it is even busier this time with all the park updates.

Oh, I should also mention that Veteran's weekend is the start of Christmas at DLR. As such, HMH and IASWH were both busier than during the summer. I suggest FP for HMH and going to IASWH first thing in the morning. That line can get crazy!

How would you rate UEA days?

That's not new - UT county *a big one, lots of kids* has had their UEA/fall break at a different time than the rest of Utah the last couple years.

I don't understand how a long weekend for SOME Utah schools could compete with attendance for a long weekend for virtually ALL US schools.

You underestimate the size of Utah families and their love of Disneyland.

So true! Utah County is stereotyped as Disney lovers with 4-8 children, and it is a stereotype that is pretty accurate! It seems like it is kind of an area tradition to go to Disney during that time.

I'm actually kind of bummed about it, because I scheduled my trip specifically to avoid UEA, but it turns out the Utah County schools will be there the weekend before, when we are going. But at least neither weekend will have the full force of traditional UEA.

While you hear a lot of moaning about UEA, it really isn't that bad. There is a noticeable difference in crowds, but they are still totally manageable. You just have to plan a little more.

I wonder if fewer people travel near Veterans Day because it is too close to Thanksgiving? Maybe people don't want to make two trips so close together? I have no idea, just musing...

I'm sure there'll be tons of Ute Red and BYU Blue ~ that bothers me, people need to announce where they're from, what school they support :crazy2:

We were there for UEA weekend a few years ago and it was pretty crowded. We weren't in the park on Sunday but I heard that it was packed - like middle of the summer packed. It was CHOC walk that day. Our experience at the Halloween party that year was perfect, though. Short lines, small crowds and lots of candy.

I didn't realize that all Utah County public schools were off the weekend before UEA. DS goes to a private school in Utah county and that is when they are off. We were originally going that weekend but now we are going for Thanksgiving.

I'll be there in my BYU Blue. Sorry if it bothers you (though I"m not sure why it would...)
