I asked this question on another thread, but nobody answered. Also I saw on that same thread that if you wait to purchas LOS when you arrive at the DVC resort that they'll drop the arrival and departure days. Can anyone verify this?

UMP stands for Unlimited Magic Pass. It's one of the many names that Disney has used for the Length of Stay Pass. Currently, the official name for that pass is Ultimate Park Hopper or UPH.

It is true that if you wait until you arrive at the resort to puchase UPH tickets, the CMs will let you drop the day of arrival and/or the day of departure.

Don't forget to ask for your 10% discount if you are staying at one of the DVC resorts. It's one of the current perks of membership.

I was gonna say "He's the guy who calls the baseball game."

The length of stay pass has had several names over the years, and is now called the Ultimate Park Hopper Pass. Generally, its name has changed when they increase the prices (give it a new name and maybe people will swallow the price increase). But it is still the same thing -- gives you admissions to all parks, waterparks, Pleasure Island, Disney Quest, and Wide World of Sports, for your length of stay. The initials for it are now UPH--the UMP represented its former name.
