Considering the love/hate posts on the current DVC resorts, how is it possible for DVC to build a resort that would suit everyone? I'd be curious to hear what would be considered "perfect".
And how about: if we can't come up with "perfect", we all just agree to disagree?:hippie: :goodvibes

You will never make everyone happy!!
Wow, if DVC builds it.....I will do an add-on.....LOL

How 'bout this: It would be deeply nature themed so you could feel like you were camping while enjoying the lap of luxury, it would have the perfect weather of Hawaii, a pool that doubled as a water park and would be located within a 1 hour drive of Manhattan (after accounting for traffic). (Or was that not what you were looking for...);)

Plus be able to park right near your room, but not walk through the parking lot to get anywhere, or even see it during your visit. Room service and free valet parking, but no tipping allowed. Gourmet restaurant on site, as well as a food court with a vast selection of choices. Dues $1.00 per point. Enough front desk staff to have no check-in wait...oh and rooms available whenever you arrive, with a check-out time of 3:30pm (later upon request).

And let's not forget that it has to be INSIDE the MK so that it is the center of the hustle and bustle, but it will also have to have that feeling of peace and tranquility and like you are getting away from it all... :rotfl2:

And owners should have priority booking up to 30 days from reservation, all rooms conceirges with MK views. Oh and MF of 3.50 never to go up and points per night lower than OKW.

Rooms would have unlimited occupancy - snap your fingers and more beds appear. But the walls are so soundproof that you could have an entire marching band practicing in your studio and no one else would know.

All rooms overlook a themepark (with fireworks every night) and the pool and lush landscaping with not a dumpster in sight. All rooms are exactly the same distance to the pool, the restaurant, the monorail stop (of course it has a monorail) so no one has to walk farther than anyone else.

All rooms magically convert from a standard room to a handicap accessible room.

Rooms are made of materials that absolutely will not absorb smoking odors and have a high performance ventilation system so that even a forensic scientist could not tell that a room had been smoked in 5 seconds after a cigarette was extinguished - this effectively puts and end to smoking optional / non-smoking concerns for all guests (Balconies are not visible for other units and also have a a ventilation system so that smoke never ever wafts onto another balcony.

Free high speed Internet access, all rooms have a large flat screen HDTV with a Blue-Ray DVD player and of course every Disney movie ever made is available on Blue-Ray DVD for free check out.

Each guest is given a free refillable mug that never expires upon check in.

And rooms of all types are available on very short notice, even during the busiest seasons.

Point costs for all rooms are 75% less than OKW.

It's simply not possible. Imagine doing ANYTHING that 'suits' 100,000 people (or try too) and you'll go.... ! !

and don't forget that every single view is a perfered view - no parking lot views, no hang out the window to see the water between two other building views

 YUCK!!!

It should look just like OKW. Only bigger and placed in Typhoon Lagoon.

And you would get "thank you" points for every time you stayed at a DVC resort, and after 2 or 3 stays you would have enough points for a free stay at a DVC resort.:happytv:

from you lips LOL

Okay, but put it in the Boardwalk location.;)

Heresy here, but I'm just not that enamored with the MGM/Boardwalk/Epcot triangle.

I think I'd like something on the Seven Seas Lagoon. I preferred the Venetian style resort mentioned a while back. Perhaps something along the lines of POR/POFQ where we'd have a mixture of large grand manors and smaller intimate bungalows along a themed waterway.

I prefer nooks and crannies with lots of places to explore and give us those hidden discoveries.

Definitely a large themed pool with water slides, zero entry and a lazy river.

A resort with enough rooms to satisfy demand (500-800). It's own accessible ferry around the lake along with a monorail station. A big community hall with banquet room for parties and activities (Mardi Gras masquerades would be fun). Several smaller pools throughout with drink refill stations and pool bars.

A very cool themed restaurant with a Lagoon or resort Courtyard view with character meals, full day service and a smaller cafe adjunct.

I, for one, am glad that DVC does not try to build "one size fits all" generic resorts - but goes ahead with themes/locations that may be polarizing.

For example, I am really, really, really happy that HHI and VB exist. I am also glad that they took the risk of a heavily themed AKV resort. While there will always be a group that feels alienated by their dislike of a given resort/location - there will be plenty of other options. I'd much rather have lots of interesting and unique choices than a bunch of generic "crowd-pleasers".

So, I'd say DVC should keep it up, and keep building different themed resorts in different resort areas. I'd personally like another larger, centrally located DVC like SSR or OKW, but with a theme that has not been "covered" yet (i.e no more beachy themes).

I'd  a few more actual beach locations as well, and I'd add on at St. Augustine or the Emerald Coast in a heartbeat.

Like unicorns, leprachauns, and free-lunches, I'm afraid the perfect DVC resort doesn't reside within the domain of reality. Too many differing opinions about what's good and what's bad.

It's good when you're walking 15 minutes to a theme park, but bad when you're walking 15 minutes to the store. Or is it the other way around?

It's good when the wallpaper and carpets are light and cheery, bad when they are dark. Or did I get that reversed?

It's good when you can conveniently park your car outside your unit rather than having to rely on Disney transportation. Or is it preferable to rely on Disney? I'm so confused!

Room service? Gotta have it! (or was that don't give a hoot about it?)

Views? I need a view of those Epcot fireworks from my balcony or I just can't be happy. Or maybe I need to see a glimpse of a lake through some trees or I will just die! No, it's giraffes I have to see! But if the point price is right, I'll call at 9 months to get a parking lot view.

And on and on it goes...

I'm afraid the perfect DVC resort will exist only until the first member stays in it. Then it's time for the "I stayed at XXX and it here's why it stinks" threads to begin.
